Setting the mood.. I remember where I was this day 4 years ago..it was so strange and dark

I was listening to WPRB and hearing hours of screaming and dissonant chords.

Landed in Spain in summer 1991 for a month of post grad studies. On drive from airport I heard then current pop music w lead vocals that used scales/ tones that sounded very Mideastern. Lot of tremolo / vibrato wavering on those microtones & diff modes

I remember the screaming dissonance 4 yrs ago

In conservative 1978 Italy, they probably had to censor more things than they do today.

I would think a 2018 reissue would have been able to finally dispense with the bleeping.

I read many rock bios. A constant in these books is "band plays gig in Italy in 1970s or 1980s, crowd is teargassed by authorities, riot ensues, show cut short".
