The void is where I imagine a band like Khanate plays from, was so cool to hear them on the sprawl the other week

The Bunun tribe from Taiwan have an unusual polyphonic choral music.

Italian prog is always so dramatic!

Yes, RPI has a sound that distinguished it from the other European prog. Never caught on in the USA, and had been hard to find. That is until the internet (peace be upon it) made so much of it available.

RPI is largely an outgrowth of Italy's own dramatic music traditions, while being inspired by England's prog. Here, Genesis is clearly an influence.

Right, I'm not familiar with much of it, but it's always sounded very operatic to me.

Exactly, Bud. So they weren't just aping English prog, but finding their own voice. It's a wide field of surprisingly advanced prog, its heyday in the early 70s.
