Brian, the wall sounds like crap! If you go on youtube, you will here they all sound like crap. But it was a wall! And when you hear stereo there, it is usually rechanneled after the fact!

I agree - it was an amazing technological achievement, but I never actually liked the "wall of sound"

The Cher track sounded very diff from anything you played today mixwise and tone wise

That is going to echo through my head like nuts & bolts All day long haha. I think wall o sound was meant for old mono transistor radio not modern headphones compressed by online. Back then on a cranked radio at beach or in car.... all good

Hello, I keep forgetting this chat function is well and thriving. Now I can finally tell Jerry I've been enjoying his show through my formative young adulthood years, and I'm pleased it endures as I finally accept that somewhere along the way I might have become a regular aged adult

A friend of mine told me a funny story which I later heard repeated by the Ramones about Phil Spector. He would lay under a piano, trying to get the right sound out of it for a 3 note introduction. The Ramones said Phil Spector locked them up in a room! Hysterical!
