S'up, Mlc. I see you showed up early to get the good seats!
Jon Solomon 8:01:02 PM
Jon Solomon 8:09:10 PM
You'll be happy to know that the top hit for searching both "Turn Me On Dead Man" and "Electric Turn To Me" is a 2009 WPRB playlist.
Mike Lupica (host) 8:11:29 PM
That is both excellent and annoying since they played live on the radio show I used to do on a different station.
“Mlc”?!? That’s a new one. If you can just stick with MrM I won’t have to resort to DJ MickeyLu or MycLooPeakUh or such as. How’s bout it?? Otherwise nice start to the show, Sir!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:12:52 PM
Ahh, you busted my typo. Go easy on me!
jimbeaux 8:13:22 PM
dj mickeylou :o
Mike Lupica (host) 8:13:39 PM
Mike Lupica (host) 8:14:24 PM
The best DJ names I've ever come across were: DJ PayPal and (rather shockingly) DJ Dog Dick.
Oh my
Bo 8:15:34 PM
Hi DJ Mike!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:16:30 PM
Hey Bo! Welcome!
esoterica 8:16:37 PM
hi! one of my all-time faves!!!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:16:42 PM
Which leads to the obvious dialog:
Bo 8:16:46 PM
Jimbeaux, Jon, MrM!
jimbeaux 8:16:53 PM
I'm sorry, but "dj mickeylou" is the persona he rolled tonight.
Mike Lupica (host) 8:17:02 PM
"I know DJ Dog Dick. DJ Dog Dick is a friend of mine. You, sir, are no DJ Dog Dick."
Mike Lupica (host) 8:17:28 PM
Hey Esoterica!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:18:39 PM
I considered playing Marquee Moon because (checks notes) I *never* play Marquee Moon, but I chickened out. Too long, got too many records pulled out as it is.
esoterica 8:19:05 PM
got ya! every song is a slice o' heaven anyway
Bo 8:22:17 PM
Love this track
Mike Lupica (host) 8:23:13 PM
Budos Band or Bob Hund? (Totally OK to love 'em both!)
jimbeaux 8:23:13 PM
Formal greetings to: bo, mike, esoterica, MrM, jon, mike lupica!
jimbeaux 8:23:57 PM
One too many mikes...
Bo 8:24:39 PM
Budos Band but this is a goody too
Mike Lupica (host) 8:24:43 PM
The curse of many of us born in... that year when "Mike" was the most popular name.
Mike Lupica (host) 8:25:10 PM
Yeah, I am consistently surprised how awesome each consecutive Budos Band record is. Still can't believe I've never seen them live.
Bo 8:27:08 PM
How long have they been around?
esoterica 8:27:24 PM
hi, jimbeaux, jon, bo, mr. m
esoterica 8:27:44 PM
and djmike! oh i did say hi to you before:)
Bo 8:27:52 PM
Hi esoterica!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:29:02 PM

Bo 8:29:38 PM
Wow! OK.
Christine Duffy 8:31:26 PM

esoterica 8:43:32 PM
i agree, bo!
Mike Lupica (host) 8:43:39 PM
I will defend all 80s Rolling Stones LPs up to Dirty Work. After that...
Mike Lupica (host) 8:43:52 PM
I *was* dancing!
Bo 8:44:03 PM
Christine, Barry's?
esoterica 8:44:04 PM

esoterica 8:44:46 PM
Bo 8:45:46 PM
@Mike, I'm thinking, Eugene Levy style?
Mike Lupica (host) 8:46:18 PM
Not quite that bad. Let's just say there's a Very Good Reason I usually hang out in the DJ booth.
Bo 8:47:51 PM
Right, away from prying eyes except, not really.
Mike Lupica (host) 8:48:26 PM
Mr. Malc, I am about to leave the candles unattended while I go get another drink. I will be right back. Letting you know because you are the official head of FP Fire Safety here in the Doomsday Pantry.
Mike Lupica (host) 8:54:42 PM
Fortunately, the burning incense is off-camera.
Bo 8:54:53 PM

Juana Molina 💙❤
You did! On purpose, right???
Mike Lupica (host) 9:43:44 PM
@Christine, I keep saying that when live music is A Thing Again, a Juana Molina gig is all I want.
Bo 9:43:50 PM
Accidentally on purpose?
Bo 9:45:14 PM
@ Christine/Mike this is one act I'm making note off!
Christine Duffy 9:45:29 PM
The idea of attending a live gig like Juana Molina's in the future *really* cheers me up!

Weirdness: I streamed the Wedding Present LP on both turntables, and the vocals are totally buried in the mix in a way that's not evident to my ears here in the Doomsday Pantry. I suspect the LP must have been re-ished out of phase.
