Cumin = great friend to kohlrabi. If you get tons of that @ the CSA peel it, cube it, season w/cumin & s&p and saute w/ oil/ghee blend or roast it w/oil. Cumin is friend

Always impressed with the food selections. Spaghetti and meatballs with homemade tomato sauce simmering over here.

We had not bought any pre made hummus or baba ganoush in long while. Get huge jar tahini and we make our own. Dried cooked chikpeas or can if need be for the hummus. Long slow saute eggplant til it turns to sugary jam for the baba. Oh I want...

Sometimes COO-min. Sometimes comino for fun.

"Coo-min," but I have been known to say "queue-min" from time to time.

Onions in the eggplant saute too. Do a 2 layer w/the hummus. Toasted pine nuts on top. Drizzle extra virgin. Maybe roasted reds or oil soaked sundried tomatoes....

if you have a gas burner, my fave way of roasting eggplant is to poke a few holes in em and roast em straight on the flame

Chicken thighs have been simmering in the crockpot for 6 hours. Love that thing.

Ahab, summertime I char the heck out of the eggplant on the grill. I miss my charcoal grill but... condo living on the balcony... oh well. It's a memory. But in winter a good pre sear on the griddle pan and some smoked Spanish paprika to help in the smoke department

Our pipes have held up, but this is much more snow than we're acclimated for.

Some friends in TX seem to be getting their power back, others not so much.

I have a great Fuego grill on the balcony but it is gas. Huge circular grate that is up at a nice back friendly height. It looks like the Uranium P32 Space Modulator little alien from the old cartoons.

It does not smoke like a charcoal grill but she gets the job done with plenty of real estate.
