Even if you don't enjoy his music (and how could you not?), physical copies of Flying Lotus releases are worth acquiring just for the uncommonly artistic album art.

ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:04:20 AM
Good morning, dude.
the_dude 7:18:38 AM
Also, the only emoji I got from that is 𓀡 the others were ꧂ , just saying too cause I'm wondering how many of mine have come up like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:21:51 AM
Hmmmm... I am aware that many of my characters, while visible on my computer, are not legible on phones. Or maybe certain old computers,
Mark 7:22:39 AM
good morning dave & dude some beautiful sunshine today :)
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:23:59 AM
🌞︎. Greetings, Mark. Finally some spring-ish weather.
Mark 7:25:39 AM
Yes I’m going to check my trails right now to see if the ice has melted / in two weeks remember the clocks spring ahead
Twofive Assity 7:27:03 AM
the_dude 7:27:24 AM
Yeah im mainly on my phone on chat, who know! Just curious. And good morning to you too Mark, it really is nice, get out there and enjoy it!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:29:10 AM
Good morning, Twofive Assity.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:30:48 AM
Ah yes, daylight saving time. I'll try to schedule some 'sunrise' appropriate songs to honor the break of day.
Mark 7:50:41 AM
Thanks looks like there’ll be a little over a week where the show will greet the sunrise 🌄!
Mark 7:53:36 AM
and I’m gonna get to some crusade reading that I’ve been meaning to do becuz of ur earlier comments:) it really couldn’t of been that bad ?
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:57:06 AM
Calamitous. Many in the Middle East, nursing a centuries old grudge, still refer to the west as 'crusaders'.
jimbeaudelaire 8:02:36 AM
Ye-O, DTO!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:03:15 AM
G'mornin' Jimbeaudelaire!
Mark 8:07:08 AM
hmmm kinda like in charlestown sc i heard the civil war referred to as “the recent unpleasantness”
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:08:31 AM
Yeah, we humans can hold onto our resentments.
Brian D 8:09:03 AM
Have not heard Varttina in a long time. Love the instruments on that. And vox too
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:10:14 AM
Good morning, Brian D. I also love those tight Finnish harmonies. They remind me of the Bulgarian harmonies.
jimbeaudelaire 8:12:48 AM
"Recent unpleasantness" sounds more like gastric distress than a war centered on human bondage.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:13:34 AM
"Alternative facts."
Brian D 8:21:42 AM
Probably found out about Varttina through thr Band Boiled in Lead from Minnesota. They sent out great flyers w all kinds of "World" etc bands. Omnium Records and Cooking Vinyl records labels. Bands like 3 Mustaphas 3. Oyster Band. Great discoveries
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:23:07 AM
I have heard on 'PRB lately a few DJs on a real Finnish music binge. Lots of interesting music coming out of there.
Brian D 8:23:53 AM
That's right. I caught that too in recent months
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:27:53 AM
And 3 Mustaphas 3 amaze me on how they can fluidly play in multiple styles.
kentman 8:32:50 AM
I'm just getting over the beauty of Aster Aweke's vocals. I can always count on this show to lead the way
Brian D 8:33:08 AM
Yes! With a great sense of humor too. Or humour. There is a great box set from Cooking Vinyl
the_dude 8:33:11 AM
My girlfriend is from Virginia and the civil war was titled the war of northern aggression in text books
the_dude 8:33:33 AM
But, wow what a journey that was fun to listen to,
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:33:34 AM
Good morning, Kentman. Glad you are enjoying the show.
kentman 8:40:53 AM
did I hear Hoven Droven on your show?
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:42:27 AM
In previous shows, yes. No Hoven Droven today. I have Garmarna up next, though.
kentman 8:45:00 AM
Have you played Jade Warrior on your show, they were an interesting diversion from the plethora of Led Zep & Fleetwood Mac on FM during the early 70's
Brian D 8:46:13 AM
*Gets pointed shoes on.. does Stonehenge dance (last track)
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:46:25 AM
Yes, Jade Warrior was aired on The New Abnormal a few times.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:47:20 AM
Aye, Brian D., I LOVE medieval music.
Brian D 8:48:03 AM
Gryphon was interesting very cool. Like this Gamarna too
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:49:17 AM
A lot of European folk music (like Garmarna) retains a medieval influence, too.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:52:21 AM
Echolyn, from the Philadelphia area, has some respectably complicated choral arrangements.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:57:06 AM
Minimum Vital in 1997, decades ahead of the Sea Shanty trend.
Christine Duffy 8:57:17 AM
Morning, DJ Dave & chat roomies *waves* It's been great to wake up to this set. Brain fuel!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:57:37 AM
Good morning, Christine.
Tyler B. 9:02:23 AM
This is a great show this morning
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:03:22 AM
Thank you, Tyler B. 🙏
Christine Duffy 9:10:09 AM
💜 Cheer-Accident
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:11:13 AM
I also. First heard them on Lizbot's ++good.
Christine Duffy 9:11:26 AM
Same! DJ Liz Bot clued me into them awhile back.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:13:01 AM
I edited this Cheer-Accident track. There was a few minutes of a disturbing voicemail message that, while interesting, really derailed the vibe.
the_dude 9:18:27 AM
Ha well now you've only piqued my curiosity more!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:19:34 AM
That voicemail message was really demented sounding. Not the mood I was going for this morning.
jimbeaudelaire 9:21:12 AM
Chimp Spanner...I get it...Monkey Wrench!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:21:43 AM
🏆 for RoJimbeau!
Christine Duffy 9:23:41 AM
Good one!
Brian D 9:26:58 AM
Lizbot turned me onto Cheer Accident. Very interesting
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:29:20 AM
There are those tight vocal harmonies again...
Christine Duffy 9:53:13 AM
@Dave the Obscure, I see what you mean about Flying Lotus' cover art.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:53:53 AM
Indeed, Christine. They need to be appreciated large scale.
Brian D 9:54:57 AM
Yes that face really comes to life if you view the image larger
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:55:42 AM
Exactly, Brian.
jimbeaudelaire 9:59:45 AM
oooh, forgot all about Consolidated! Kinda in the Meat Beat Manifesto meets Negativland realm.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 10:00:16 AM
Pangaeo 10:00:28 AM
great show today mr. obscure
Brian D 10:00:32 AM
