Tally-ho. It's tuesday again.
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:03:50 PM
I'll be playing some stuff from the NWW list in the show's thorax, and the usual chicanery otherwise. Come join!
Brian D 12:06:56 PM
Ready for Thoraxian journeys
Mark 12:07:20 PM
hmmm my calendar says monday/ thankfully it’s march!
Mark 12:09:26 PM
i do like the above haptics :)
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:09:32 PM
But don't our hearts say otherwise?
Brian D 12:09:52 PM
Marchamos!
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:09:56 PM
Tuesday is slowly becoming Monday, not sure I'm fully there yet though.
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:10:56 PM
Andalé!
Mark 12:11:18 PM
so alice would pronounce as early ;) I’ll be listening past the thorax as well !
Brian D 12:12:30 PM
In my Rorschachian 1st impression I saw the Grateful Dead lightning bolt (t m.) in the space of the Nurse With Zune image above
Brian D 12:13:21 PM
I'm more of a Doctor With Sansa Fuze+ without the degree
Brian D 12:14:39 PM
Lives of Angels nice fusing of the motorik with organic guitar part
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:23:06 PM
This is good news Mark! And I was wondering myself what that space/formatting in the list suggests. It seems like a lot of something
Brian D 12:23:26 PM
12:21 perfect band name and track name. I can smell the bamboo
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:25:43 PM
I'd like a canopy of that ceiling over my own, short of the real thing
Brian D 12:26:25 PM
I still have several Sansa Fuze+ digital music players and still listen to them. They are a great size. Fit a ton of tunes. And play myultiple formats. Including video ! On that lil postage stamp size screen it's pretty darn cute. They sound good too.
Brian D 12:29:28 PM
The smartypants phone era started soon after for me and made them take several steps down the rungs. But they're good to have around. I remember a friend had a Zune for a while & still held on to it. Good for dirty rough job site listening where he did not take the phone
Richard from Rocky Hill 12:30:17 PM
Hi DD! I couldn't imagine how you'd even come close to last week's .gif of Haru Hosonolo dancing in his home studio -- but you've succeeded! (Videojug indeed ... haha!)
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:30:40 PM
Those look fun. I had a zune for a good while and some sort of tiny cylindrical/rectangular sansa before that I think (and of course cd players). I've accumulated a bunch of old korean mp3 players of various sizes and shapes from a friend that I was supposed to put music on, but have yet to get working. In my mind they're always the future subject of some great mp3-based art project. But zune's remain my favorite player
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:31:25 PM
Hey RfRH! I contemplated trying to get that watermark out of the gif but it seemed funnier with it in (nevermind that I don't really know how to edit it out!)
Richard from Rocky Hill 12:35:41 PM
No worries, DD, I won't tell the PC Police. And, hey, like Haruomi-san last week, she dances in perfect since with everything you're spinning. May the Universal Rhythm rock eternally!
Brian D 12:36:42 PM
The Korean companies really did/do make some great digital audio players. There was another Korean company that had a player out that played hi res files long before it was common. . Forgot the name
Brian D 12:38:32 PM
I love the idea of the art project! I can just see and hear that now
Richard from Rocky Hill 12:38:57 PM
Oops, of course I meant "perfect sync" with everything ... (@#$%&* auto SpellCheck)
Brian D 12:40:38 PM
I could see The Flaming Lips being involved. Get a million users to fire up audio on mp3 players and sync it up live streaming.
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:41:17 PM
No worries, I think I read it that way anyway! And that was kind of how I got into DJ'ing, making CD mixes for people and filling Ipods with curated music and accompanying booklets and little bad drawings and stuff. Never occurred to me that there was a place for that kind of thing in radio until a friend told me about WPRB!
deirdre dionysiac (host) 12:41:45 PM
I will work on accruing that million user/subscriber following..
Brian D 12:41:45 PM
Cool! You were meant to be here
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:03:25 PM
Ok, goofy prog and fusion section incoming.
jimbeaudelaire 1:04:16 PM
yell-0 Deirdre! My Wound is With the right Nurse.
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:07:55 PM
Morphine's all I got!
Brian D 1:13:29 PM

I'm liking this Dedalus.

Brian D 1:34:59 PM
I echo that evaD
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 1:39:24 PM
I always refer to Demetrio Stratos' singing as 'vocal gymnastics'. Or just yodeling.
jimbeaudelaire 1:43:32 PM
Lady Zune is really groovin' to this...
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:44:36 PM
I'm liking the robot arm in unison with the motorik
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:45:24 PM
Trying to think of what gymnastics move that song would've been comparable to but my knowledge is limited. Maybe something on the balance beam
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 1:48:39 PM
Il Balletto Di Bronzo - one of the best releases from the Rock Progressivo Italiano scene.
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:50:35 PM
I feel like Italian prog should always dare to sound like the out of control merry-go-round ride that this one is
deirdre dionysiac (host) 1:51:46 PM
And yet it's all so tightly performed, so maybe a paradoxical comparison on my part
jimbeaudelaire 2:13:59 PM
Heckin' epic!
jimbeaudelaire 2:19:07 PM
[ L'INFONIE ]
Bryon Mollica 2:21:03 PM
Thanks I didn't know there was Italian prog rock
deirdre dionysiac (host) 2:22:49 PM
Only the finest of prog originates there!
deirdre dionysiac (host) 2:23:29 PM
And jimbeaudelaire, the full song is 30 mins long, you should queue that one up if you're interested in the whole thing
deirdre dionysiac (host) 2:23:41 PM
epic indeed!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 2:26:36 PM
@ Brian M: here is a good write-up about Italian Prog. http://www.progarchives.com/subgenre.asp?style=28 . Even Wikipedia has a big article.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ 2:29:03 PM
I meant "Bryon".
jimbeaudelaire 2:36:41 PM
screeeeaaaaam it NANA!

when the opportunity is there, she's taking it 10/10 times
jimbeaudelaire 2:41:18 PM

Brian D 2:55:48 PM
Great show Deirdre
deirdre dionysiac (host) 2:56:27 PM
There's my daft punk-ian sample. Thanks Brian!
Mark 2:56:52 PM
Haha love the mash up :) !
Brian D 2:58:24 PM
Someone commented that the big hit "Get Lucky" sounded like the chorus lyrics were "like a Mexican monkey..." and I cannot NOT hear that now
deirdre dionysiac (host) 3:00:21 PM
Haha. I was doing a dive into their non-hits yesterday and "Homework" in full was putting me to sleep in the car a bit, but I cannot deny that their hits are electric. Need to do some more listening
deirdre dionysiac (host) 3:01:27 PM
