Lizbot played Ooh Child by Five Stairsteps month or so back. I looked up the song. Few days later googlo-ryhtm news let me know that there is a new cover of said sweet soul song. By mr Paul Stanley .... oof. Well it sounded note for note by the few seconds i heard

I grew up in a strictly classical music only household so my lunchboxes were gingham-print. We searched and searched at Caldor but, alas, there were no Mozart lunchboxes to be had!

Yep Woolworth at OVM had a great record section too! My friends had a price tag switching game their . They'd switch double lp price tags out, buy them for 2 , 3 bucks. Sell them to me for 7 or 8 still a deal. Woolco was at the "mini mall" Lincoln Plaza right nearby

*there . Sears at OVM had record (cd tape) section and audio equip til early 90s too. Bought some great stuff there as they sent me a sears card! Welcome to credit young'n

the OVM had 3-4 CD/music shops at one point. I remember the one next to Walden Books had black furry stuff on the outside decor

Yes ookla. Wall to Wall Sound and Listening Booth were the standalones (plus dept stores that had record sections) . Then Wee Three Records came in. They bought out W2W & LB. Then there were 3 at once

All I want to do right now is bury myself in some dusty cheapo record bins. I guess there's one case a mask might actually be nice.

And yeah thou, and this whole set, has been enhancing my mood for sure

I would go into Rainbow Records and the nice staff would ask me if i needed help every 5 mins. I had to tell them "hi i am fine, i will be here for about 5 hours, look at everything several times, thank you". Not an exaggeration

They had a headphone booth too. But only stocked w latest releases and staff picks. A nice touch tho

Bose 301s and a Sony amp/receiver bought at Sears OVM about 30 years ago. Still working. Amp could use some contact cleaner spray tho

And find a way to incorp all the new computers, tvs etc along the way to still work w the old audio

I listen to more digital than vinyl these days. Gott get the turntable fixed. Well mostly WPRB really! Can't seem to get away from them
