Lizbot (host) 5:14:00 PM
@Kentman- Thanks! Still getting used to the transitions on this new set-up. Gotta tweak a few things!
kentman 5:15:25 PM

Lizbot (host) 5:35:42 PM
@mark- I'm used to the few second delay - that was in the studio too between the studio speakers and the stream. This was something else entirely! Mixxx was just completely freezing

kentman 5:46:21 PM
ii'd gladly serve in that kingdom
Mark 5:46:43 PM

Lizbot (host) 5:49:33 PM
I will gladly proffer my services to Kate as her Lady In Waiting
kentman 5:49:44 PM
Scots don't want a monarchy any more than the Irish, but let it be a monarchy of musical ideas, so much great music from Scotland and Ireland these days, to humble poor england
Lizbot (host) 5:50:14 PM
Sounds good to me! Referendums for ALL!
Lizbot (host) 5:50:29 PM
Kate's mom was from Ireland
Lizbot (host) 5:50:53 PM
And she uses a few musicians from Planxty on The Jig of Life
Alan Pasnyk 5:54:29 PM
Wow! Love This Twice
Lizbot (host) 5:54:53 PM
Well, at least that segue from Lilac Wine into You Only Live Twice went as planned!
Mark 5:55:14 PM
ha john barry & nancy: what a combo!
Lizbot (host) 5:55:30 PM
@Alan- Yeah, this is by far my favorite Nancy Sinatra song. not Boots, even though that song is fun!
Lizbot (host) 5:56:22 PM
@Mark- Yes! AND one of my favorite lyricists wrote the lyrics, Leslie Bricusse!
Alan Pasnyk 5:56:22 PM
I have a vinyl of all the James Bond themes classic classy stuff
kentman 5:57:45 PM
her boots were made for walking over me, but Nina, i saw her live and what she could do to a piano,, pounding, standing up, conjuring
Lizbot (host) 5:58:20 PM
@kentman- wow! I'd love to have seen Nina Simone live!

Lizbot (host) 6:05:47 PM
Hey Krista!
Buck Wild 6:06:04 PM
Jiving to ya groves Bot
Lizbot (host) 6:06:29 PM
@Krista- This song takes me back to a time in the early 2000s when I was living with a group of friends and this song was on the communal computer so it got played a lot
Lizbot (host) 6:06:36 PM
Hi Buck!
Lizbot (host) 6:17:25 PM
Settle in for a Catherine Ribeiro 11-minute EPIC...while I pee and attempt to find dinner items!
jimbO3.O 6:24:56 PM
Hello, Yr Royale Botness! This track is INSPIRED.
Lizbot (host) 6:26:01 PM
Hi Jimbeaux/O3.O!! yeah, I looooove Catherine Ribeiro! She is criminally under known
kentman 6:26:48 PM
a first listen for me
Lizbot (host) 6:27:37 PM
@kentman - her bands were Paix, Alpes and 2Bis
kentman 6:29:07 PM
that voice is leaving band behind
Lizbot (host) 6:29:28 PM
Ribeiro is from Portugal but always based in France and she's relatively known there, but so little so here, that for a long time she didn't have an English language wiki page or website. Now she does
Lizbot (host) 6:32:36 PM
Here's a voice for you: Lene Lovich! I wish I could do bird calls like that. I also wish I saw her perform at Plastic Fantastic in Ardmore, my fav local record store when I lived near there in the late 90s... Alas, she performed there when was a toddler!
kentman 6:33:53 PM
was that a record store?
Rob from Maryland 6:35:15 PM
Good evening all. It's nice to hear Ms Lovich
kentman 6:38:25 PM
i remember buying a Pharoah Sanders record there.
Mark 6:38:45 PM
Siouxie Sioux has that great hair style too !
Lizbot (host) 6:41:14 PM
Hi Rob! Howya doing?
Lizbot (host) 6:43:41 PM
@kentman - Yes. Plastic Fantastic was a record store on Lancaster Ave in Ardmore. It went outta business for a while in the 2010s and then reopened. DOn't know how it's doing these days. I'm rarely in that area anymore. In the late 90s, they had a goofy standard poodle that used to follow me around the store as I browsed
Lizbot (host) 6:44:15 PM
Plastic Fantastic had photos on their wall of their epic in-store performances, including Lene Lovich and Iggy Pop!
Lizbot (host) 6:45:45 PM
@Mark- Funny you should mention Siouxsie Sioux. My husband just had a Siouxsie-athon, listening to all her records in chronological order, just a couple of weeks ago. I like those Creatures album cover photos of her and her former partner, the hilariously named Budgie!
Rob from Maryland 6:47:07 PM
Hi Lizbot! I/we are doing well, grooving on these songs that we haven't heard for a long time
Lizbot (host) 6:47:24 PM
I remember hearing XTC's Apple Venus Vol. 1 for the first time the day it came out at Plastic Fantastic and immediately buying it. The very poppy twee song "I'd Like That" was playing over the store speakers
Lizbot (host) 6:47:32 PM
Good to hear that, Rob!
Rob from Maryland 6:48:22 PM
The Siouxsie-athon makes me smile. That is so great
Mark 6:51:30 PM
haha i agree / a Sioux thon sounds so great / I hope checked out the infamous Sex Pistols morning show clip that she’s in !
Lizbot (host) 6:51:53 PM
@Rob- Yeah, whenever he decides to listen to everything by one artist in chronological order- which he's been doing this entire bizarre year- then I re-experience all the work of that artist too!
Lizbot (host) 6:52:05 PM
@Mark- haha, I'll ask him!
Mark 6:52:59 PM
it was scandalous then pretty mild now - they swore on air :)
Lizbot (host) 6:55:15 PM
@mark- haha! I will have to find that on YouTube after the show!
Lizbot (host) 6:55:59 PM
I remember that Public Image Ltd interview where Johnny Rotten was being, well, rotten..."We're not a band, we're a CORPORATION!"
Mark 6:57:50 PM
yes that was his rather famous tom Snyder interview/ wow this stereo lab is amazing!
Brian D 7:02:22 PM
Ha! The word "compliant" invades my world day and night!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:43 PM
@Brian D - haha! But do POSSUMS invade your world day and night??
Lizbot (host) 7:04:33 PM
@Mark - Did you see Stereolab at Union Transfer when they came for that reunion tour? I did an all-Stereolab show that day, then drove right to the venue so I know it was a Thursday, but I don't remember what month...some time in 2019
Brian D 7:05:16 PM
Well I do break out into George Jones songs often so yeah
Brian D 7:05:36 PM
Love this Joan A song! Fave!
Lizbot (host) 7:06:23 PM
@BRian D- Nice!
Lizbot (host) 7:07:40 PM
I love Joan Armatrading so much, and this is a badass album cover with a zig-zaggy chair that I know is by some mid-century modern designer titan, but I don't remember which one
Brian D 7:07:41 PM
John Lydon king of the interview skewers
Lizbot (host) 7:07:49 PM
haha, true
Brian D 7:09:34 PM
I remember Kurt Loder just pleading "John. .. come on .. don't walk out..." when Rotten was on MTV once. And walked out
Lizbot (host) 7:10:16 PM
@Brian - haha, of COURSE. And I can just hear Kurt Loder's voice in my head!
Lizbot (host) 7:11:03 PM
It is not possible for me to play Yma Sumac without dancing in my chair. Mambo! is pure gold. One of my all-time favorite albums
Lizbot (host) 7:11:35 PM
I'd like to imagine possums dancing in line to this song
Lizbot (host) 7:11:49 PM
complex possum choreography
Lizbot (host) 7:12:26 PM
some possums are prone to get stage fright and play dead....like the one that encountered my dog in the yard several months back
Mark 7:17:23 PM
Nooo i remember you talking about it on air / I also kinda remember u saying it sold out almost immediately:(
Brian D 7:18:05 PM
My "neighbor" Annie
Rob from Maryland 7:19:06 PM
See the carpet of the sunnnnn :-)
Lizbot (host) 7:19:08 PM
@mark - yeah, it did sell out fast
Lizbot (host) 7:19:33 PM
@ROb- Ha!
Lizbot (host) 7:20:27 PM
@Brian D - If Annie Haslam were your neighbor, she'd corner you to talk about her elderly cat every day! the one time I met her, she went on at length about said cat
Rob from Maryland 7:21:01 PM
Did y'all see the tiktok of the opossum being fed jelly with the feeder singing a sea shanty? https://twitter.com/thegallowboob/status/1372293644162568198
Rob from Maryland 7:22:39 PM
@Lizbot, I love Renaissance
Lizbot (host) 7:22:48 PM
@mark- That Stereolab reunion show was like a unofficial WPRB DJ reunion/get-together! I ran into SO many DJs, past and present, as well as lots of old friends from many periods of my life and the owner, John, of one of my other former favorite (long defunct) record store, Space Boy Records, which was on South around 5th. That was a fun show!
Lizbot (host) 7:23:15 PM
@rob- Oh my god, no, I have not and I clearly NEED to !
Rob from Maryland 7:23:39 PM
@Lizbot you should it's only 28 seconds
Lizbot (host) 7:23:50 PM

Brian D 7:27:50 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:28:33 PM
@Brian D - ha!
Brian D 7:28:43 PM
This loop/edit was used on the Kids Corner program eh?
Brian D 7:29:27 PM
Ya. Annie H lives down the road a piece last I knew. Never met her.
Lizbot (host) 7:29:51 PM
@Brian D - I think you may be right. I haven't heard Kids Corner in a while, but I used to hear it on my drives home
Brian D 7:31:05 PM
I think it was a "bed" intro to when she talked
Lizbot (host) 7:31:22 PM
@Brian D - Yeah, I remember when I met her at NEARFest in Bethlehem I thought she lived in the U.K., and then Renaissance played two more shows, I think both at The Keswick, shortly after NEARfest, and I realized she's local!
Brian D 7:32:42 PM
Yup UK born. I think she married someone from Phila area in 80s & stayed after the relationship ended because she liked rural bucks co
Lizbot (host) 7:33:05 PM
