With all the fun activities and plans happening for Easter Resurrection Sunday , anyone heard of a versus musical battle between the all time legendary bands between Earth, Wind and Fire and Isley Bros taking place tomorrow evening?

I have heard that tale told in other genres too. Mike Cross great North Carolinian of Bluegrass / Americana music has a song called Elma Turl. "she told her daughter, yer daddy aint yer daddy so you can marry whoever you oughta"

I run out to pick up son from work and look what I miss lol

Verdine White and the late Marvin Isley. Keepers of the funk on the low notes. Great bass players in those bands

Loved learning the bass line to It's Your Thing by the Isleys. Makes the whole song. The guitar line is often mistaken for the bass line. Both together link up and mesh for a funk classic. Probably covered by ska bands in Jamaica I bet!

Indeed Brian D, I think Maurice White passed a few years back and I faintly recall one of the Isley Bros passed long time ago.

The Jamaicans loved their brothers and sisters in Motown, Stax, Soul, Funk, Blues worlds up north
