"Treadin' Schuykill" - pronounced "Skoo-kill." You know, like the river through Philly?

SKOO kill round these Philly parts. That's the way the Dutch word went through the Philly meat grinder of pronunciation anyway .

Right on! My mom's family was all Philly area. Yet she didn't teach me to pronounce everything properly. ;)

so much disagreement on how to pronounce most of these, you can't really be wrong

When I lived in Manayunk, a French dude I knew always pronounced it Yamanuke
