Comedian/actor Matt Besser had a great prank the wrong number callers. His phone # was same as some software info # but people did not understand area code 10 digit dialing. So Matt had a LOT of fun with these people

I saw Matt Besser (agent Adair from the old Comedy Central series “The Upright Citizens Brigade”) perform “May I Help You (Dumbass)?” at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre when it was at its original Manhattan location on W. 22nd Street two decades ago! I’ve never seen much of “The State”. Are you sure he was in that show?

Sorry Upright Citizens Brigade not The State. Those 2 shows were on in close time frame, get em mixed up. So cool you got to see Matt! He had a funny show on satt radio w/ comedians doing bad celebrity impressions but Matt treated it like a real interview almosy & took callers.

It’s incredible now how frequently, easily and cheaply I visited NYC from my Monmouth County home in the pre-9/11 days. I attended the UCB Theatre several times in the period after their Comedy Central show ended and before Amy Poehler (agent Colby) became famous. I saw one of those weekly Sunday improv shows the entire foursome would do.

I also saw Matt Walsh (agent Trotter) star in a play as a Secret Service agent who has a torrid affair with the bratty President’s daughter he’s assigned to guard. I saw the Naked Babies troupe a couple of times, not knowing that Rob Corddry would become famous. I discovered the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players there!
