Greetings Dylan, Brian, Mr. M!!! My favorite springtime sound is that of the return of the peepers/tree toads/frogs. BIG BUT CAVEAT -- If the windows are open and I am surrounded by the dulcet tones of said frog/toads, I end up listening. All night long. AND I hear the changing of the guard from toads/frogs to early morning birdsongs at circa 4:30 a.m. Not good for my sleep habits...

I hope I’ll be able to enjoy myself after all this durraahhmaaaa

@Teresa: and we're counting the days until the swarm of cicadas.

That brief period between heater use and AC use. I don't hear the thermostat clicks when trying to sleep or feel the register breeze for a few weeks

That's something that I truly regret missing! We don't get the 17-year Brood X cicadas in MA. <> We were leaving our Pennington home -- really high-tailing it outta Jerz! -- when the last Brood X occurred. I was completely enchanted and smitten with all those wee red-eyed, wet-winged cicadas and their buzz-saw drone! It was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! <3

You have a thermostat that clicks too, Brian? Our house is quite old and our heating system is incredibly noisy. Sometimes it sounds like the Nibelungen in the walls are tuning pianos all night, at other times, it sounds like their taking out their aluminum recycling... Also -- 'Orchestra of a thousand cicada strings' is an excellent association! I like that!
