Cool! I'm unfamiliar with english paper piercing! My partner is much better at stitching than me, but elsewhere in craftworld I have been working on handmade band merch!

yeah! fun to come up with all these different designs and learn different techniques. been mostly working with bleach and fabric paint, and only using thrifted clothes!

add some embroidery?

yes i'm planning on trying that on a jacket i'm working on!

Have you ever hand embroidered patches?

I have not done hand embroidered patches but have done machine ones. There's a fusible web you can add to the back to iron them on.

I'm also seeing stuff online about sewing on felt patches (rather than ironing on), which is intriguing

felt patches are great. you can sew them on with a running stitch or blanket stitch

most wool felts are a blend - I would avoid the dryer but otherwise should be ok. have fun with it!
