The Indian and Iranian musical systems have many similarities and an intertwined past, making collaboration natural.

And they both begin with the letter "I"

Tim -- Jorge's catalog is vast, but he probably made his most money fame (outside of Brasil) from Sergio Mendes covering his tunes

That Umbamaruma song is a football (soccer) song I believe. Lyrics are saying "play ball" and "goalie" at one point I know that . (joga bola and homem gol)

Brian D. - no guest singer is credited on the Punjabi track. It was Raul Paz's song that had the reggae vibe.

I thought I heard a low gravelly voice towards the middle / end on Punjabi tho

Yeah, I think I know what you're referring too. I just can't find anyone credited in the liner notes.

Ehthiopian singing, scales, melodies and the little trills, etc they do wow. Sounds like music of so many other areas of the world too.

And then again it is unique to Ethiopia and that region I guess

The few Sudanese tracks I have heard are also really interesting in the vocal and musical approach. Love that style.
