For the next liar theme set Violent Femmes "Lies" a fun version that segues from studio to live jarrinlgly but just right. And there's electric balalaika or bouzouki or some such instrument. Great show John. I love your show all year round but there's something special about Sunday eves when the light stays a bit longer...

I had to look it up. David Wiffen is the writer of Drivin Wheel. Heard that done by some great acts over the years on record and at festivals.

I saw Peter Rowan at the wind Gap bluegrass festival back around 1982 or so

It was a good time, camping in a nice location with campfire jams going on all night long

Peter Rowan and his lost Mexican Air Force or whatever he was calling his group at the time had played out in California, up in the weed growers territory, at the Ukiah harvest festival. You can imagine what the harvest was...

I had friends in the area associated with that harvest festival and my buddy told me he was paid in sensimilla which be fits the theme of the festival.

Sorry I keep hitting the send before I mean to... Anyway things were very loose and informal at wind Gap, and I got to talk with Peter Rowan for a bit after his set and told him I heard he had just played at the Ukiah festival. And he looked me in the eye and he says "you got anything to show me?"

@Bo, I actually held the High(way)women cd in my hand at my local indie bookstore in DC yesterday...If only I had heard this song before then, I would have bought it. A friend who loves Jason Isbell and similar loves this cd, and since I am liking Isbell, I think I will like that cd
