The cicadas in those fields on Washington Lane between Lake Carnegie and Rte 1 are BONKERS LOUD

The cicadas in the graveyard across from the Spring Street Garage near Princeton Public Library are pretty dang loud as well

Hi Lizzzbot!!! Hey Guess What? I saw the Solar eclipse this morning at 6AM. And a friend of mine saw it rising out of the ocean down the Jersey shore. It looked like an orange peel...waaaay coool!

@Mickey - I wanted to drop into PREX Sunday, but alas there was no time. We had to make it to New Hope by 7 pm Sunday evening to see The Crossing modern chamber choir perform in a field of wildflowers and woods tail at Bowman's Wildflower Preserve! A good reason to skip outta Princeton early!

@Mark - Yeah, the last Porchfest I went to was 2019 and it was great. We always have a lot of friends performing on their porches. My kid was happy to go in 2019, but had a headache on Saturday from her shot the evening before. My husband was there until well after the official end time. I always love that event!

I actually went to a movie theater for the FIRST TIME since pre-pandemic on Tuesday night! I needed to find something for my 12 year-old that I wouldn't mind, so I took her to Cruella - didn't expect Black Sabbath in a Disney movie! That was a first!

ha the ice cream place in Elkins park showed the new cruella outdoors Saturday nite / I watched a little bit of it

@Corage Mike - I taped PRB a lot in the late 80s and throughout the 90s. A few years ago we got a donation of HUNDREDS of tapes of PRB shows from a listener spanning back at least 3 decades!

@Krista - That IS perfect! I always listen to Atlantic City on my way down the shore! We wandered down to the free Tuesday night shows in Beach Haven Crest a few years ago and it was a Bruce cover band that had been performing Bruce professionally since the 80s! They were actually really good

50 year anniversary of zep version- ‘71 - remember u can play zep ballads thru pine barrons if need soothing on drive :)

BTW all, this Petra Haden (from That Dog) cover of Zep isn't on an album, she released it as a one-off on her YT channel and her website

@Mark- Yup! I will be playing Going to California, Bron-Yr-Stomp, Tangerine, and other more acoustic-y Zep at some point during my drive through the Pinies this week, of that you can be sure!

@Mark - My husband makes fun of me for my Zep listening habits on drives to and from the shore, but I fully defend it! Brings back memories of my brother and I blaring those songs down the shore as kids!

Hattie is 12, so she missed the brunt of SpongeBob mania, but I remember when she was about 2 years old and we took her to the Trenton Avenue street fair in Fishtown, a vendor was selling Spongebob mylar balloons and she got excited about them but didn't know the character, so she called him "CheeseBob" because, to her, he looks like Swiss cheese, which, fair enough, he kinda does! We've called him CheeseBob ever since

@Brian D - That Season of the Shark YLT song reminds me of the WPRB comedy show by Jay Barnes and Vanessa that followed me about 17 years ago, Provoke the Listener - They told listeners over the air that WPRB was changing to an all classic rock format and changing its name to "WPRB - THE SHARK!" and then Vanessa would emit a little growling noise! A bunch of people fell for it!

@Brian D - Their summer-y album, Summer Sun! I haven't seen them in a while, but my favorite Yo La Tengo show for for And Then nothing turned itself inside out at the Troc. A dude from the opening band climbed up onto the balcony from below - I'm not even sure how he did it, the ceilings are so high! That album is beautiful. It was sort of the love songs album between Georgia and Ira when they were first getting together
