Hi Rob, no, I'm back in Cicadaland

I've got eels on the brain thanks to a birthday greeting I received from Commie Francis with "Conga Eel"

Ah, well, it had to end.

I'm happy to be back, I love hearing the cicadas

"Conga Eel" is quite a line

It was a mystery to both of us what it was talking about! Dana K informed us it refers to the "conger eel".

I'm sad because for the first sunny morning in some weeks there are no cicadas calling. Yesterday the "flying saucer"/"pharoah" species volume was noticeably lower than the previous sunny morning. But today there are none audible from our house :-(((

Conger eels dancing are clearly conga eels :-)

Don't despair, you'll soon hear some over the radio. I opened my window and I'll hold my microphone up.

This song, "Cruise Lane" is an excellent driving song and seems to be written to be so, but it's also a lot of fun to dance to

This is such a good urban driving at night song. I find myself grooving and I'm barely awake. It's impossible to not dance a little.

The diver has a very interesting life. Ten years ago, while traveling in Costa Rica, he was a passenger in a small plane that crashed in the jungle, killing the pilot, co-pilot and a passenger. Packard sustained multiple serious injuries to his abdomen and upper body. The rescuers that found the remaining five passengers after two nights in the jungle said they wouldn’t have survived another night. (from the article about him from Cape cod)

We pulled the ring for tickets to King Crimson / Zappa Band at Garden State Arts Ctr on Labo Day weekend. Would like to see them in Phila at the Mann Music Ctr but it's Tuesday after Labor Day... not a good night. Looking forward to that show. And Wilco/ Sleater Kinney at The Mann in Aug. Back in the concert world!
