Their 1996 album "A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness" (Slumberland) is one of the finest of the 90s with a cult following of true believers (me...). Active for almost 30 years now, Rocketship also released an excellent record last year "Thanks to You." We talked about topics ranging from ACSACS to climate collapse and more!

The original LPs are very hard to find now

they go for $100+

I knew about Rocketship in the 90s, but I was transitioning out of indiepop/twee into English then Scandinavian folk so if it was at all a deep cut then I could easily have missed it.

Hee hee. On my last car I had a "Pro-Accordian And I Vote" sticker from the band Those Darn Accordians (that I never actually saw, go figure)

I had someone pull up in the lane next to me and pretend to play the accordion because of that sticker ... on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge near Annapolis (it's like 4 miles long and this was on the two lane eastbound part) ...

no it was just me and another kid, westin though we sometimes had guest friends. . we had a show called “risky business”

ah yes that's the one...I misremembered the part about it being 3 people

at the time I think we were the youngest kids on air — we heard an open call to come in and take a class and a test so we did it and they didn’t know until the end that we weren’t juniors in college, but high school
