Houses three blocks away were without electricitiy for 45 hours because so many trees and big branches fell on wires

@Lizbot, good to hear about the water. I forgot(?) to say our house only lost power for five hours. The 45-hour folks were right by the 70+ foot oak that fell on wires and a bus route

@Dan C - My go-to for a “Dreamsicle” ice cream fix is Evergreen Dairy Bar in Medford, NJ, which is at the beginning of a big pine forest on the way to the shore town I visit every summer! Orange and vanilla "custard" (as they call soft-serve there) swirl!

@Dan - I collect Tomy robots from mostly the early 80s, but I have 50s-70s robots too. I stopped collecting when my daughter was born 12 years ago because baby stuff took over my shelves!

Rumor has it The Globe movie here might reopen Labor Day. I’m starting a movie club there when they do. Watch it, discuss. Done it at libraries mostly in the past.

@Alan - Oh believe me, I know! Worst water I got was when living near the Italian Market in South Philly - that part of Philly is lower elevation than where we are now. BUT the absolute WORST single flooding incident I experienced was not from rainwater!- It was my 150 year-old Fairmount house's main sewer line bursting in our basement mid-winter while I had a 1 month old baby!

The robots are incredible! I want to do paintings of a couple of their insides, panel on their torso. Inner workings!

@Alan - Yup! I lived a half a block from that intersection a decade ago! The bus + the high temps in the summer always melted that street. The streets dept was forever repaving it, having everyone on the block move our cars

@Dan C - Oh wow, restoring art is so crucial. I am afraid I don't store things properly! I have some warped canvasses that need re-stretching, which isn't that big a deal, but I never get around to it! Flood damaged stuff is beyond me! I did take the original 1879 blueprints to my house to a professional restorer since they had dots of mold-like substance on them

I treated McCauley culkins strategic plan of attack, against Joe Pesci, for the late director John Hughes, movie Home Alone. Crayon on white paper. No one else in the studio had a clue what it was.

@Dan C - Oh, of course! We always had PMA membership growing up. I had a professor at Moore College of Art when I took classes there as a teen who was obsessed with Duchamp, so we visited that Duchamp section often! Staring into that installation feels like looking into one of those old viewfinders into a diorama and has a crime scene feel!

@ Dan, Yes I've been to the Marcel collection many times, living only a few blocks away from the Museum, Understand that it's the largest Duchamp collection on the planet...

Tornado warning, heading towards Trenton

At 601 PM EDT, a ****confirmed large and dangerous tornado**** was located over New Hope, or 11 miles northwest of Trenton, moving southeast at 25 mph.

George Eastman House had Rockwell exhibit, that compared painting with the photograph of the model. Rosie could kick my ass, no doubt about it.

I have Channel 6 from Philly open in a tab, and they are showing that the tornado is heading out of Trenton towards Robbinsville & Allentown. I think that the transmitter is safe.

@Rob - The Saturday night I was there on 7/17 around 10 pm a colossal storm blew in over the bay and the lightning show was amazing!

Lizbot, neato! I love lightning shows, when the storm is so far away that I can't hear thunder. A couple of times I've seen lightning from storms 30 miles away.

@Ambrose - Robert Wyatt is one of my all-time favorite vocalists and I just adore his sensibilities. I think his wife Alfreda Benge's painting are great too and they make such a fascinating couple

@Ambrose - I first Natalie Mering (AKA Weyes Blood) when she was a teen living in Doylestown and coming into Philly to sing with my friend's band Satanized! I saw her perform and talked to her at many Philly house shows in the mid-2000s. Saw her perform on a double decker bus too! She called my show once to chat about ++good. I love playeing her music on my show!

@Ambrose - Yeah, she's gotten huge! Good for her! She has great songs and a great voice. I love Front Row Seat to Earth and Titanic Rising- the album is so great! She even got a song on the credits of Orange In the New Black off Front Row Seat to Earth, "Be Free"
