Lizbot here! Let's hope the predicted tornado doesn't down a tree on my wires!
Alan Pasnyk 5:04:15 PM
Hi Lizbot!!!! Hope you don't get the reputation of being a "Storm Magnet", another show, another storm...Fingers crossed!!!
Lizbot (host) 5:05:45 PM
Hi Alan! Ergh! Let's hope not! Quite a few rainy Thursdays lately!
Ambrose Hughes 5:05:58 PM
Hi Lizbot! Liking this song :)
Lizbot (host) 5:07:05 PM
Hi Ambrose! Thanks!
George Korein 5:07:26 PM
Oh boy whipping out the Hattie jam
Lizbot (host) 5:08:32 PM
@George - Yeah, too bad she's at camp and can't hear it!
Rob from Maryland 5:09:51 PM
Hi Lizbot and everyone! There's a storm heading toward me in Maryland, and another one to the northeast with a Tornado Warning from time to time. Lizbot is the Stormbringer?
Brian D 5:09:54 PM
Tornado warning just buzzed my phone
Rob from Maryland 5:10:34 PM
@Brian D, is that the one for Bucks & Hunterdon?
Lizbot (host) 5:10:41 PM
Hi Rob! Call me Stormbringer, Harbinger of DOOM
Rob from Maryland 5:11:06 PM
I will from now on, Stormbringer, Harbinger of DOOM ;-)
Lizbot (host) 5:11:16 PM
Hello Brian D! Yeah, the National Weather Service is keeping things tense and exciting over here!
dan Cochrane 5:16:27 PM
Reminds me of Moondog, whom I love.
Krista 5:16:50 PM
Yes, we are in the basement!
Lizbot (host) 5:17:27 PM
Hi Dan C - Oh yeah, I can see that!
dan Cochrane 5:17:38 PM
Steam bath only here in southern IL.
Lizbot (host) 5:18:01 PM
Hi Krista! I am NOT in the basement! I am upstairs by a big tree! Wish me luck and the good graces of the Radio Gods!
Lizbot (host) 5:18:26 PM
@Dan C - So far it's just a light rain
Rob from Maryland 5:18:28 PM
Yikes Lizbot, good luck!!!
Lizbot (host) 5:18:45 PM
@Rob - Yeah, I haven't had the best luck with trees lately!
Rob from Maryland 5:18:57 PM
@Lizbot, I remember!
dan Cochrane 5:19:32 PM
Lizbot! I’ve heard two covers this week, one Miles Davis from Kind of Blue, one VU, and both were done in PAC Man, or Mario bros. Type music. They were good too!
Rob from Maryland 5:19:41 PM
We lost power here at 7:43 on Monday evening, so we couldn't listen to Rosasolis Dream. I'm hoping we don't lose power tonight...
Lizbot (host) 5:19:43 PM
@Rob and Krista - My basement is an unfinished dirt dungeon from the 1870s. There are no outlets, let alone wifi signal down there, so no broadcasting from there!
dan Cochrane 5:20:33 PM
Wasn’t Dirt Dungeon the main character in “boogie nights”?
Rob from Maryland 5:20:36 PM
Houses three blocks away were without electricitiy for 45 hours because so many trees and big branches fell on wires
Rob from Maryland 5:21:14 PM
@Lizbot hopefully no water will get into your dirt dungeon
dan Cochrane 5:22:50 PM
My whole summer (so far) has been waiting for one of two local dairies to serve “Dreamsicle” flavor ice cream. Marcoot’s, and Milkhouse.
dan Cochrane 5:23:36 PM
What a voice!
Lizbot (host) 5:24:26 PM
@Dan C - AH! I played both of those last week on my show! 8-bit covers! I grew up on Atari and the original NES 8-bit soundtracks so I have a fondness for that stuff!
Lizbot (host) 5:24:51 PM
@Rob - oh no! Last time we lost power it thankfully only lasted about 5 hours
Lizbot (host) 5:25:10 PM
@Dan C - re: Dirt Dungeon - ha!
dan Cochrane 5:25:29 PM
They were amazing. I love the Lego movie soundtrack too! Mark Mothersbaugh of course.
Lizbot (host) 5:25:31 PM
@Rob - Water hasn't been a huge problem here ever since we put in a French drain, but man that was expensive!
Rob from Maryland 5:26:48 PM
@Lizbot, good to hear about the water. I forgot(?) to say our house only lost power for five hours. The 45-hour folks were right by the 70+ foot oak that fell on wires and a bus route
dan Cochrane 5:27:19 PM
I’m really into vintage Japanese toys, but only need the great books on them. Robots, etc.!
Lizbot (host) 5:27:22 PM
@Dan C - My go-to for a “Dreamsicle” ice cream fix is Evergreen Dairy Bar in Medford, NJ, which is at the beginning of a big pine forest on the way to the shore town I visit every summer! Orange and vanilla "custard" (as they call soft-serve there) swirl!
Rob from Maryland 5:27:24 PM
And the/this storm has passed. The sun is coming out, even
Lizbot (host) 5:28:29 PM
@Rob - Well that's good. I was worried we'd be screwed for a while, but PECO got out here quickly. That tree was in pieces in our street for a week and a half though
dan Cochrane 5:28:35 PM
Yummy! HS my bro’ and I worked at White Castle, half vanilla shake, half un carbonated orange drink. Heaven.
Alan Pasnyk 5:28:48 PM
@ Lizbot Drain was money well invested, water damage can be a heartbreak! Not to mention Expensive!
Lizbot (host) 5:29:47 PM
@Dan - I collect Tomy robots from mostly the early 80s, but I have 50s-70s robots too. I stopped collecting when my daughter was born 12 years ago because baby stuff took over my shelves!
dan Cochrane 5:30:32 PM
Rumor has it The Globe movie here might reopen Labor Day. I’m starting a movie club there when they do. Watch it, discuss. Done it at libraries mostly in the past.
Mary Jones 5:31:07 PM
Wow, this set is a *mood*
Mary Jones 5:31:36 PM
I love it.
Lizbot (host) 5:32:02 PM
@Alan - Oh believe me, I know! Worst water I got was when living near the Italian Market in South Philly - that part of Philly is lower elevation than where we are now. BUT the absolute WORST single flooding incident I experienced was not from rainwater!- It was my 150 year-old Fairmount house's main sewer line bursting in our basement mid-winter while I had a 1 month old baby!
dan Cochrane 5:32:09 PM
The robots are incredible! I want to do paintings of a couple of their insides, panel on their torso. Inner workings!
Lizbot (host) 5:32:09 PM
Hi Mary J!
Mary Jones 5:32:19 PM
Hi!
Lizbot (host) 5:32:41 PM
@Mary - Ya, I love juxtaposing some Alison Moyet/Vince Clarke with folky stuff
Ambrose Hughes 5:32:59 PM
Really great set of music Lizbot, Love Yazoo!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:17 PM
@Dan C - That sounds great! I'd like to see it. My brother-in-law works in robotics. He'd be interested too
Ambrose Hughes 5:34:07 PM
Just got very dark outside here in mid Bucks :(
dan Cochrane 5:34:18 PM
I restore art, and I’ve supervised disaster recoveries of flooded libraries, architects drawing archives, etc. freeze drying key element of it.
dan Cochrane 5:35:18 PM
Driving, driving rhythm…
Lizbot (host) 5:35:28 PM
@Ambrose - uh oh...well, good luck! I'm farther south and west
Alan Pasnyk 5:35:40 PM
@ Lizbot, I had a feeling that you lived in the Fairmount section of Philly 'cause A Loong time ago you mentioned the mega-pothole on 29th Street on one of your shows...
Lizbot (host) 5:37:23 PM
@Alan - Yup! I lived a half a block from that intersection a decade ago! The bus + the high temps in the summer always melted that street. The streets dept was forever repaving it, having everyone on the block move our cars
dan Cochrane 5:37:27 PM
Have any of you seen the infamous marcel Duchamp installation, two peek holes, at Philadelphia museum of art? Omg! You wouldn’t ever forget it. French title of course. Jonathan!
Joseph Gambardello 5:37:45 PM
Nice to hear Alison Moyet.
Lizbot (host) 5:38:05 PM
Hi Joseph! Glad to play Yaz!
Ambrose Hughes 5:38:22 PM
Thanks Lizbot' were getting hammered now!
Alan Pasnyk 5:39:05 PM
@ Lizbot, In the meantime all is calm in the Fairmount section of Philly...
Joseph Gambardello 5:39:45 PM
You should check out some of her solo stuff. I love this song. The girl in the vid is her daughter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv0qOwg9F8w
Lizbot (host) 5:40:13 PM
@Dan C - Oh wow, restoring art is so crucial. I am afraid I don't store things properly! I have some warped canvasses that need re-stretching, which isn't that big a deal, but I never get around to it! Flood damaged stuff is beyond me! I did take the original 1879 blueprints to my house to a professional restorer since they had dots of mold-like substance on them
dan Cochrane 5:42:53 PM
I treated McCauley culkins strategic plan of attack, against Joe Pesci, for the late director John Hughes, movie Home Alone. Crayon on white paper. No one else in the studio had a clue what it was.
Lizbot (host) 5:43:56 PM
@Dan C - Oh, of course! We always had PMA membership growing up. I had a professor at Moore College of Art when I took classes there as a teen who was obsessed with Duchamp, so we visited that Duchamp section often! Staring into that installation feels like looking into one of those old viewfinders into a diorama and has a crime scene feel!
Alan Pasnyk 5:44:20 PM
@ Dan, Yes I've been to the Marcel collection many times, living only a few blocks away from the Museum, Understand that it's the largest Duchamp collection on the planet...
Lizbot (host) 5:44:22 PM
@Ambrose - Yikes! I hope we don't get hit with it here until after this show is over tonight!
dan Cochrane 5:44:59 PM
Also Mary Todd Lincoln’s commitment papers, circuit court, Chicago. Scotch tape and white out removal, just like the Dead Sea Scrolls actually!
Lizbot (host) 5:46:11 PM
@Joseph G - Oh wow! I've never heard Alison's daughter's music! Thanks for the heads up! I gotta check it out after the show
dan Cochrane 5:46:38 PM
Yes! Must have hit David Lynch, early scenes in Blue Velvet.
Ambrose Hughes 5:47:09 PM
@Lizbot, looks like we're in the clear here :)
dan Cochrane 5:47:28 PM
Thank goodness!
Lizbot (host) 5:47:58 PM
@Alan & Dan C - That was one of the nice things about living in Fairmount - I used to get to the PMA far more often than I do now! Got to all the new exhibits, Members Nights and special concerts at the foot of the grand hall where the Augustus St. Gaudens "Diana" lives! Have either of you seen the NEW wing
Lizbot (host) 5:48:10 PM
@Ambrose - Phew!
dan Cochrane 5:48:37 PM
When was it completed?
Joseph Gambardello 5:48:41 PM
Not her daughters music. Her daughter plays the girl in the video. enjoy.
Ambrose Hughes 5:49:05 PM
@Dan, I dated a girl who was a direct descendent of Mrs Lincoln once.
Lizbot (host) 5:50:01 PM
@Joseph - Ah! Gotcha! Can't check it out until post-show but will do!
dan Cochrane 5:51:05 PM
Really?!? In the papers whenever it said “insane”, next in parenthesis it said (and not a pauper). I found that creepy, interesting for the times.
Alan Pasnyk 5:51:54 PM
@ Lizbot, No but used to have a membership for years to PMA, Best part was getting a lecture about the art, But I always liked to have a good look first!!
Ambrose Hughes 5:52:03 PM
@Lizbot, boy, haven't heard Japan in so long.
Lizbot (host) 5:52:14 PM
@Dan C - Don't know exactly, but it's open to the public now! Although the beautiful FRONT entrance is STILL closed!! I LOVE exiting the museum, esp at dusk or night, when through the front with the city skyline all lit up and that amazing view from the top of the steps!
Lizbot (host) 5:53:08 PM
@Ambrose - David Sylvian is one of my favorite vocalists. There's a very specific quality to his voice that always hits my ears just the right way
dan Cochrane 5:54:01 PM
Ok, not a “top that”, but I broke my own rule, never ask a client out. FDR’s great grand daughter, Anna. Amazing woman, what a resume! Went to CSO, Mozart Requiem, it was fun.
Ambrose Hughes 5:54:38 PM
@Lizbot, I second that emotion ;)
Lizbot (host) 5:54:52 PM
@Alan - And I loved when Members Night was Wednesdays ("Make It a Night" as Rendell used to say about Wednesday, when meters were free! to get people out to restaurants and events mid-week,) and the PMA showed Renoir films!
Alan Pasnyk 5:55:16 PM
Our family celebrated the new Millenium at midnight on the steps of the Art Museum
Lizbot (host) 5:56:18 PM
@Alan - That sounds amazing! I was working on NYE 1999 and New Year's Day 2000 first thing in the morning! My co-workers and I hoped for the Y2K Bug to close the bookstore!
Lizbot (host) 5:56:54 PM
@Dan C - Oh wow!
dan Cochrane 5:57:27 PM
I’m a art museum junkie for sure. Heading to crystal bridges soon to see Rosie the riveter norman Rockwell, the daughter of Sam Walton beat Spielberg in bidding on it. He has the most paintings I believe. Makes sense.
Alan Pasnyk 5:57:32 PM
@Lizbot and yes i used to go to the PMA Wednesday evening dances etc. I think it would be funny if we crossed paths Ha!!
Ambrose Hughes 5:58:04 PM
@Dan c, You win :))
dan Cochrane 5:58:32 PM
Just look for the muddy feet, shoes, from her basement. Sorry.
Lizbot (host) 5:59:41 PM
@Dan C - That's crazy re: Home Alone strategic plan of attack, did you see that doc series where there was an episode on the making of Home Alone? I love that they built the house interiors in an olympic-sized indoor pool in a massive gymnasium!
dan Cochrane 6:00:31 PM
Irony that Rosie the riveter painting was bought by Walmart founders daughter.
dan Cochrane 6:01:27 PM
No, I just freeze framed the dvd for my portfolio image!
Rob from Maryland 6:02:33 PM
Ok the 5 pm live videocast thing is over, and the storm has passed, so I am now listening to PRB
Lizbot (host) 6:02:33 PM
@Dan C - well wait...was it the Rosie the Riveter Norman Rockwell painting, or was it that Westinghouse Corp's war effort homefront propaganda poster "We Can Do It?"
dan Cochrane 6:03:05 PM
Rosie for certain!
dan Cochrane 6:03:28 PM
Often confused, understandably.
Lizbot (host) 6:04:07 PM
@Dan C - ah, I would hope so! I love her sloppy sandwich! but yeah, maybe not my favorite ppl to own that!
Rob from Maryland 6:04:56 PM
Tornado warning, heading towards Trenton
Rob from Maryland 6:05:21 PM
At 601 PM EDT, a ****confirmed large and dangerous tornado**** was located over New Hope, or 11 miles northwest of Trenton, moving southeast at 25 mph.
dan Cochrane 6:05:27 PM
George Eastman House had Rockwell exhibit, that compared painting with the photograph of the model. Rosie could kick my ass, no doubt about it.
dan Cochrane 6:07:07 PM
Her foot is resting on some book too, I forget the title. You know it?
Ambrose Hughes 6:08:21 PM
@Rob from Maryland Hi! I'm only a few miles from New Hope, Trenton just down river from there.
dan Cochrane 6:08:53 PM
It’s “Mein Kampf”, crazy!
Christine 🦊 6:09:01 PM
Hey gang 👋 Another wild weather doubleplusgood. ☁⚡🤖 With Storm Bot!
Rob from Maryland 6:09:36 PM
Hi Ambrose! I hope you're ok.
Rob from Maryland 6:10:10 PM
Hi Christine! Will there be enough water from the storm for Bath Boy?
Christine 🦊 6:10:13 PM
@Ambrose & Rob, I'm in Bucks County too, and am considering moving into the basement.
Ambrose Hughes 6:10:14 PM
@Christine HAHA Stormbot :))
dan Cochrane 6:10:51 PM
How could I not know that movie? Library system will have Criterion version too.
Rob from Maryland 6:11:01 PM
Christine, if you're between New Hope and Trenton, you probably should move into the basement. If you're not, you might be ok
Christine 🦊 6:11:32 PM
@Rob, LOL 😄 You know I was listening to Jon's archived show from yesterday. BATH BOYYYY
Rob from Maryland 6:12:38 PM
Ooh, where does Jon archive his show? I can never listen to PRB btwn 5 and 6+ pm so I always miss the first hour of his and Lizbot's and Readie's shows
Lizbot (host) 6:12:48 PM
Hi Christine! Man, I gotta catch up! I was at a live show in Pastorius Park last night during Jon's show. And I gotta catch up with all these comments! LRBing here and hoping the storm doesn't blow through until after 8 PM in my part of Philly!
Ambrose Hughes 6:12:48 PM
@Christine, it passed to the north of us, Pipersville and was headed east, hope you remain safe!
Lizbot (host) 6:13:50 PM
@Rob - Good to know! I am not between those two points. I am fairly south of Bucks
dan Cochrane 6:14:07 PM
I can watch it now! On Amazon prime. After ur show of course.
Lizbot (host) 6:14:19 PM
@Christine & Rob - I really gotta get on top of archiving ++good!
Rob from Maryland 6:14:21 PM
Where is the station transmitter? In Princeton, or somewhere nearby?
Lizbot (host) 6:15:43 PM
@Dan C - Nice! Assuming you're talking about Gas, Food, Lodging. I actually DJed the Criterion party at the I-House and tried to play a lot of Alison's favorites! She did come over and chat for a while about music and I was very happy about that. Check out her blog some time about buying Marlene Dietrich's record collection!

@Liz, where is that?
Lizbot (host) 6:16:35 PM
@Rob - So yeah, even if I don't lose power here in Philly, I am concerned about the transmitter! Still need that to work too!
Rob from Maryland 6:16:35 PM
At 606 PM EDT, a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Washington Crossing, or 9 miles northwest of Trenton, moving southeast at 25 mph.
Lizbot (host) 6:16:54 PM
@Rob - BB is in south part of Central Jersey
Rob from Maryland 6:17:05 PM
Locations impacted include... Trenton, Ewing, Princeton, Hightstown, Bordentown, Cranbury, Pennington, New Hope, Yardley, Hopewell, Allentown, Washington Crossing, Princeton Meadows, Windsor, Plainsboro Center, Woodside, Edinburg, Crosswicks, White Horse and Twin Rivers.
Alan Pasnyk 6:17:57 PM
@ Lizbot, sorry to say that DJ Readie' location near Wash Crossing getting hammered, very dangerous...
Lizbot (host) 6:18:16 PM
@Rob - Our transmitter is very much right in the middle of the tornado area
Rob from Maryland 6:18:44 PM
@Lizbot, I was afraid of that
Lizbot (host) 6:19:29 PM
Bakers Basin is in Lawrence Township, forget the apostrophe!
Lizbot (host) 6:20:15 PM
@Alan - Oof. Poor Readie! At least she sort of have a view of the river level rising, if visibility isn't terrible there right now!
Rob from Maryland 6:21:06 PM
Thx Lizbot. I see a Baker's Basin Road near US1 & I-295, in Lawrence Township, on Google Maps
Lizbot (host) 6:21:55 PM
@Rob - If you use Google Street View, you can probably see our transmitter
Lizbot (host) 6:22:32 PM
This is tense tornado watch music
Lizbot (host) 6:22:59 PM
But maybe this Adrian Belew track will usher in sunnier weather....
Ambrose Hughes 6:23:49 PM
@Lizbot, here here!
Lizbot (host) 6:24:41 PM
sky blue...not gray! Come on weather gods, listen to Adrian !
Christine 🦊 6:24:53 PM
I hope Readie is OK. And the transmitter too! I am in the basement.
Alan Pasnyk 6:25:34 PM
Hi Christine! Be Safe!!!
Ambrose Hughes 6:26:03 PM
@Christine, mind yourself!
Rob from Maryland 6:26:14 PM
Be safe Christine!
Christine 🦊 6:26:19 PM
@Alan, hello! Did you see the ISS last night around 10:38? 🛰
Christine 🦊 6:26:58 PM
Thank you, Ambrose and Rob.
Lizbot (host) 6:27:38 PM
@Dan Cochrane - Oh, I'm only seeing your earlier comments about Rosie now! I'm live remote broadcasting, so I'm not able to read all the comments during mic breaks, but yeah, THAT ROSIE could 100% kick my ass and I love her for it! I prefer the Rockwell Rosie to the young woman who worked at a plant for a week and got asked to pose for that Westinghouse poster. Are you talking about the Eastman House in Rochester? I've been there, but not since the early 90s
Alan Pasnyk 6:28:01 PM
@ Christine, no, but was out with the scope on tues nite (Nice) and saw ISS that night from north of Doylestown..
Lizbot (host) 6:28:40 PM
SOMEONE HELP THE SEA MONSTER STRANDED ON THE SHORE! "Marooned in an ecstasy of waiting"! Poor sea monster! He's like us waiting for this tornado to happen or not happen
Lizbot (host) 6:29:04 PM
FYI, I had this 8 1/2 Van Der Graaf song stuck in my head for the past WEEK
Rob from Maryland 6:29:44 PM
The lightning map I have open in another tab is showing LOTS of lightning associated with this tornado-warned storm approaching Trenton. Yikes
Christine 🦊 6:30:06 PM
@Alan, that sounds like great entertainment. I camped at Cherry Springs S.P. a few days ago, and it was a profound expererience. I can't wait to go back. 🌌
Lizbot (host) 6:30:18 PM
@Christine - Stay safe! I'm glad you're in the basement!
Christine 🦊 6:31:19 PM
Poor sea monster. Won't anyone think of the sea monsters?! Thank you, Liz Bot.
Alan Pasnyk 6:31:47 PM
@ Christine, Next time go to Ch. Springs during New Moon...
Christine 🦊 6:34:38 PM
I will try; it's tough finding an available campsite. They book up quickly. Tuesday night the moon didn't rise until around midnight, so there was a couple hours of moonless viewing.
Christine 🦊 6:35:26 PM
Thank you, Liz Bot/ Storm Bot 🤖 ⚡☁🌀
Christine 🦊 6:35:36 PM
Thank you, Liz Bot/ Storm Bot 🤖 ⚡☁🌀
Ambrose Hughes 6:36:49 PM
That Adrian Belew track seems to have worked, BELEW that storm right out of here Lizbot :))
Rob from Maryland 6:41:50 PM
I have Channel 6 from Philly open in a tab, and they are showing that the tornado is heading out of Trenton towards Robbinsville & Allentown. I think that the transmitter is safe.
Rob from Maryland 6:42:09 PM
And that poor sea monster :-(
Lizbot (host) 6:43:52 PM
@Rob - I shed a tear every day for that sea monster. So misunderstood.
Lizbot (host) 6:44:11 PM
@Rob - Listen to that song by Barnegat Bay for added effect!
Lizbot (host) 6:44:40 PM
@Rob - Good to know about the tornado moving away from Bakers Basin. Thanks for the update! Sun is shining here!
Lizbot (host) 6:45:06 PM
@Ambrose - HA! Belew puns are always welcome at ++good and WPRB!
Rob from Maryland 6:45:31 PM
It is so misunderstood. Poor beast.
Lizbot (host) 6:45:36 PM
@Christine - I'll be adding "Storm Bot" to my business cards, alongside Killbot and Lizbot
Lizbot (host) 6:46:26 PM
@Christine & Rob - I always have sympathy for the misunderstood beasts of the world. It means no harm
Rob from Maryland 6:46:44 PM
I bet the song would sound even sadder at Barnegat Bay. Especially if there was a lot of wind and waves.
Rob from Maryland 6:47:10 PM
Lizbot, you are a hero to those beasts!
Lizbot (host) 6:48:05 PM
@Rob - The Saturday night I was there on 7/17 around 10 pm a colossal storm blew in over the bay and the lightning show was amazing!
Ambrose Hughes 6:50:36 PM
@Lizbot, I bet that was something to witness, very coil.
Ambrose Hughes 6:50:52 PM
*cool
Rob from Maryland 6:51:04 PM
Lizbot, neato! I love lightning shows, when the storm is so far away that I can't hear thunder. A couple of times I've seen lightning from storms 30 miles away.
Ambrose Hughes 6:51:46 PM
Love Robert Wyatt's voice, so unique in pop/ rock.
Lizbot (host) 6:53:40 PM
@Ambrose - I love those storms over the bay. Got some time-lapse footage from the relative safety of a covered porch
Ambrose Hughes 6:54:33 PM
@Lizbot, oh that's great!
Lizbot (host) 6:55:17 PM
@Ambrose - Robert Wyatt is one of my all-time favorite vocalists and I just adore his sensibilities. I think his wife Alfreda Benge's painting are great too and they make such a fascinating couple
Rob from Maryland 6:56:14 PM
I love all the Flock of Dimes songs I've heard
Lizbot (host) 6:57:38 PM
@Rob - This Flock of Dimes cover of Mirah is my favorite on this Mirah covers tribute that came out last year. I listen to this more than Wye Oak
Ambrose Hughes 6:57:48 PM
@Lizbot, can't argue with that, thanks for the tip about his Wife :)
Lizbot (host) 6:58:40 PM
@Ambrose - No problem! She painted many of his album covers!
Ambrose Hughes 6:58:49 PM
@Lizbot, have you heard Weyes Blood?
Lizbot (host) 6:59:07 PM
@Ambrose - I purchased a couple of Alfreda's signed and numbered prints - prized possessions!
Lizbot (host) 6:59:16 PM
@Ambrose - Yes! I know Natalie!
Ambrose Hughes 6:59:43 PM
I don't have any of his albums to my shame :(
Christine 🦊 6:59:44 PM
@Rob, Jon's show from last night is archived on his blog here: http://keepingscoreathome.com/?p=4496
Ambrose Hughes 7:00:37 PM
@Lizbot, Oh cool, she's so talented!
Lizbot (host) 7:01:17 PM
@Ambrose - I first Natalie Mering (AKA Weyes Blood) when she was a teen living in Doylestown and coming into Philly to sing with my friend's band Satanized! I saw her perform and talked to her at many Philly house shows in the mid-2000s. Saw her perform on a double decker bus too! She called my show once to chat about ++good. I love playeing her music on my show!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:38 PM
Baby Dee bringing the fair weather too, bringing backups in the form of birds! Belew and Baby vs. the Tornado. (a sequel to Joe Vs. The Volcano)
Christine 🦊 7:02:40 PM
💜 Baby Dee
Rob from Maryland 7:03:07 PM
Thanks, Christine! I'll listen to it tomorrow while I work (from home)
Christine 🦊 7:03:45 PM
@Liz Bot, great idea playing this. This is one I've heard on your springtime-themed doubleplusgood.
Lizbot (host) 7:04:00 PM
@Ambrose - Oh no, go get yourself from Robert Wyatt! There's even an excellent record store in Austin named for one of his albums: End of an Ear! Great store, I stayed in an apartment 2 blocks from it while there for a wedding years ago
Ambrose Hughes 7:04:55 PM
@Lizbot, that is just fantastic, I hadn't learned of her till relatively recently, heard her first on Marc Riley's show strangely enough.
Lizbot (host) 7:09:11 PM
@Christine - Thanks! Yes, normally reserved for April! But I love it and I couldn't resist how April Day's bird field recordings blend into the birds at the end of Mirah's "The Sun"!
Lizbot (host) 7:11:06 PM
@Ambrose - Yeah, she's gotten huge! Good for her! She has great songs and a great voice. I love Front Row Seat to Earth and Titanic Rising- the album is so great! She even got a song on the credits of Orange In the New Black off Front Row Seat to Earth, "Be Free"
Ambrose Hughes 7:12:52 PM
@Lizbot, ah excellent, pleased for her!
Christine 🦊 7:13:24 PM
@Liz Bot, great segue from one to the other with the recorded birdsong. You gotta love field recordings of birds.
Lizbot (host) 7:14:17 PM
@Christine - You know I'm a sucker for birds! I hear em in my own house every day!
Lizbot (host) 7:14:50 PM
@Christine - And BTW, I just accidentally mistyped yr name as "Christone" but I like it!
Joseph Gambardello 7:15:51 PM
Tornade warning NE Philly, Bucks, Trenton
Lizbot (host) 7:16:37 PM
@Joseph - Yeah, my phone just buzzed with that warning. Yikes
Christine 🦊 7:21:07 PM
@Joseph & Liz Bot, my phone just got that warning too. ⚠ 🌪️
Christine 🦊 7:24:45 PM
Let's all say Acnalbasac Noom. 🌕 Also, Baby Dee is one artist who I love that I first heard played on ++good.
Lizbot (host) 7:27:29 PM
I love that "I have eyes that have seen the wilds of Pennsylvania in the wintertime" from this Mirah song!
Lizbot (host) 7:27:53 PM
@Christine - Yes! Say it all TOGETHER! It should be a station ID! Acnalbasac Nooooooom
Lizbot (host) 7:30:12 PM
@Christine - SO glad to have introduced you to Baby Dee on this program! You know there was an off-off-broadway show about her life! SHe's had such an amazing life, working for the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, being a street performer, a church organist, a unicyclist, and so forth!
Alan Pasnyk 7:32:09 PM
@ Christine: How about "I have eyes that have seen the light from galaxies whose light began it's journey when dinosaurs roamed the Earth..."
Christine 🦊 7:34:42 PM
@Lizbot, Baby Dee is unique and wonderful. I would love to have seen the production about her life & colorful career.
Andy Wing 7:35:32 PM
Nice Faust cover!
Christine 🦊 7:36:14 PM
@Alan, I like it! It's hard to put into what's it like to sit on a star field with a billion stars overhead.
Ambrose Hughes 7:36:25 PM
@Lizbot, I've not heard this in ages, so great, thank you!
Christine 🦊 7:36:28 PM
*put into words*
Lizbot (host) 7:37:46 PM
@Andy Wing - Yeah, I love this cover! Glad you're enjoying it!
Lizbot (host) 7:38:53 PM
@Ambrose - Glad you like it! I hadn't heard it in years myself!
Lizbot (host) 7:39:48 PM

Ambrose Hughes 7:41:34 PM
@Lizbot, I'm in ecstasy :)

Lizbot (host) 7:42:34 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:43:39 PM
@Kristin - Thanks! Putting together today's program put me in a really good mood!
Lizbot (host) 7:44:29 PM
@Ambrose - An animated film about XTC??! No! Where can I find and watch said film STAT?! That'll be required viewing for me tonight after my show!
Alan Pasnyk 7:45:12 PM

Lizbot (host) 7:46:09 PM

Hey all, I'll be on my New England road trip next week, so I might not be able to hang in the chat next week, but I'll try! It'll have to be prerecorded next week, unlike my usual live shows and shenanigans!
