A very happy Sunday to everyone out there, listening or not!
Richard from Rocky Hill 10:57:54 AM
Hello Brian, and thanks for the tutorial on the significance of odd numbers of protons and neutrons in elements for their abundance or scarcity. That's what I love about your show and WPRB in general -- even the "odd" info and music are valuable! LOL
Brian (host) 10:59:28 AM
Hi Richard! Thanks for tuning in. I try to be as odd as possible without being completely unintelligible... Hopefully the balance is right! If we are the oddest radio station around, I think we're doing our job
Richard from Rocky Hill 11:27:03 AM
Yes!
Richard from Rocky Hill 11:46:18 AM
A question for which the answer may be too large for a chat window (or your time as a multi-tasking host LOL): The people who speculate we may actually be living inside a gigantic commuter simulation (probably created by a fantastically advanced alien civilizaton) ... What indications do they have that this could be true? I'm not asking What proof? I'm asking what indications, what suggestions, leasd them to ask this question?

Thanks for replying to my question re: speculating our world is an incredible alien intelligence's computer simulation. If the proponents suggest that there'd be so many of such simulations that, odds are, we'd have to be one of them, reminds me of Anshelm's argument for the existence of God: God is a being such that a greater being than God can't be imagined (or exist). If God did NOT exist, God would NOT be the greatest thing/being that could be imagined. Therefore, God MUST exist, odds are.
Richard from Rocky Hill 11:58:43 AM
Obviously, I don't accept either argument on either question!
Richard from Rocky Hill 11:59:09 AM
Thanks for another outstanding show!
Brian (host) 12:01:04 PM
@Richard I agree that these arguments are indistinguishable at the root... interesting point! Thank you for listening!
Brian (host) 12:02:15 PM
@Shri I look forward to waking up as a cactus, learning it's been dreaming my life the whole time
