Jazz/Improcised/creative music had an incredible year in 2020, a real spirit-raiser in such a horrible year.

I feel like this year we're getting everyone;s pandemic album.

I feel the same about the stuff I've been playing, the past few months I've played 99% new stuff and sometimes struggle to keep pace with all that's coming out!

We are lucky to get two Desert Cruising shows this week!

Hi, Captain Ahab! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one daunted by the sheer amount of new albums out. Not that it's a bad thing! Just a bit overwhelming.

@Dan, it seems like the artists of the world (musicians, painters, writers, dancers, sculptors, illustrators, etc.) have started to process the events of 2020 and 2021 into the most astonishing work.

Turning lead into gold, as if it was just routine.

I wasn't familiar with the term so I asked the Wikipedias and here is what I found: "Irrlicht, the German name for will-o'-the-wisp, the ghostly light sometimes seen at night over bogs and swamps" What is it with Germans and swamps?! They also have a stand-alone word -- in German/English dictionaries -- 'Sumpftod' which means 'Swamp death' (I guess, they're referencing the 'preserved bodies in bogs' phenomenon?
