Baltimore pianist Lafayette Gilchrist is a recent discovery for me, great composer of punchy tunes (one appeared on the HBO series TREME) and a powerful player.

Yeah. Brandee seems like a "rising star/talent'. Over the past year I have heard her on various different PRB shows.---I am not sure about other radio stations, though. I only listen to about 5 or 6 stations.

@Shane, only 5 or 6 radio stations is a lot! 📻 💯 Good on you. I would love to hear much more from Brandee Younger.

It's a bummer that the late night talk shows aren't more tuned into the jazz scene, Brandee would be a natural for a TONIGHT SHOW spot...

She's quite lovely with a great fashion sense to boot.

Just heard a forthcoming Oliver Lake project that really knocked me out...

@ Patrick. WKCR will be doing their 3 day marathon for Lester Young and Charlie Parker. Prez's birthday is the 27th. Bird's is the 29th so WKCR splits the difference.

I enjoyed Rudresh's Bird tribute from a few years back, tunes composed by pieces of Bird's solos (which he credits).
