I had correspondences with Susan a number of times over the years and she actually suggested I interview her for the show, but alas, I never got around to it and I will always regret that

Susan was always very kind in correspondences with me. She also took a great interest in my daughter when she was younger. We almost visited her in Tucson back in 2015, but schedules didn't align

@Alan - Yeah, it feels too soon! I love the fall, but I got seasonal whiplash from how quickly we went from hot dog days of summer to being thrust into what feels like mid-fall. Also, my kid just started 7th grade yesterday and the adjustment has been...challenging

Maybe there will be an Indian Summer T-Shirt time later??

I'll keep wearing my rotation of PRB t-shirts, per usual. 👕 Minus one, because my 11-year-old niece recently claimed one (the one from 2015 with the cassette tape art).

I don't know if anyone here has school-aged kids, but my current biggest complaint with the seasonal change is really just that I wasn't ready for her to be back in school. We were down the shore until the day before the 1st day of school. I have not readjusted my mind! I also don't love that the school buses aren't an option now so we gotta get up super extra very very early

we avoid that problem by homeschooling!

@Addie, Christine, Alan - I am bummed I didn't wear my King Crimson shirt to the show at the Mann Tuesday night! I like the one I got at their 50th anniversary show at The Met. Would've blended in with all the other prog dudes.

I feel like they wouldn't plan that 50th anniversary tour back in 2019, another in 2020 (that got postponed until 2021) and then SUDDENLY pull the rug out from under us...right? It's KC feast or famine! And they've been so tight on these tours. Fripp even did another league of crafty guitarists/ frippertronics workshop last month. My friend Reg participated!

I'm hoping they'll still do small strings of shows or something. I get that most of them are getting pretty old to spend 2 months on the road.

@Bud & Christine - The guy sitting next to my husband was a middle school teacher who said his students are suddenly aware of Fripp and Crimson because of Robert & Toyah's Sunday Brunch weekly covers going viral on YouTube! Haha! And here I thought the kids solely used TikTok these days

@Bud - Yeah, honestly, SO glad it was at the Mann so I felt comfortable being an outdoor show....BUT, the sound at The Met in 2019 was SO much better!

I agree about the sound at the Met. But yeah, don't know if I'd have been comfortable going if it hadn't been semi-outdoors.

Holmdel NJ. Beautiful spaceship venue. More breezy ventilated than the Mann.

My least favorite Crimson show: sometime in the 90s at the TLA, because it was around 100 degrees inside and they hadn't yet leveled the floor, so standing on a slope was very uncomfortable. The performance (the Double Trio) was excellent.

@Bud - Yeah, I have seen so many bands at the TLA but have never been a fan of that venue! It's always frustrating to see bands there, but so many bands I love have played there

@Lizbot, my wife says: "Ostia is the best!!!" and "I will scream uncontrollably with happiness if you do play it"

It's still not a great venue, but there have at least been some improvements.

Also, a really nice full-circle thing is that my husband's very first King Crimson show was 25 years ago at The Mann, so it was nice to return there for this "final" tour!

Lizbot, speaking of obscure British folk rock, are you familiar with the album Fly On Strangewings by Jade, from 1970? (Credited to Silver Jade on some releases)

My husband said he was incredulous the first time he heard Starless, in his best friend's dad's car on the way to the Spring Gulch Folk Festival when he was 13, because he thought it was "just a ballad". By the end, it was his favorite KC song

It never ceases to amaze me how Fripp barely moves when playing. He's perfectly upright

I love how they make their one and only lighting change during this song on the last few tours. Fading from white to red during the instrumental at the end!

@Liz yeah, considering what state the world is in, we’ve had a surprisingly great summer! A week down the shore, Colorado for a wedding, lots of gardening and swimming at my mom’s house. We’ve been very lucky, and I’m not ready for it to be over either. But I like autumn, so it’s not so bad.

I was just talking to my MIL over the weekend about what a consummate showman Leonard Cohen was. We both saw him on the same tour, me in NYC and she in Philly, and were blown away. What a great backing band he assembled too

I love this track from Marianne Nowottny Wow! I've never heard of her before.

I remember buying a pair of book-CDs at tower records featuring diy instruments with a forward by Tom Waits. It had Wendy Carlos and Don Buchla and a bunch of other cool folks.

@Dennis - Whoa. Was it Gravikords, Whirlies and Pyrophones booklet/CD by Ellipsis Arts??? I love that collection. All music made with and composed for homemade instruments with a thick hardcover yellow booklet. I bought it in West Philly at Bindlestiff Books on Baltimore Ave 18 or so years sgo

He did Bright Illusive Butterfly, which was a hit. But I love his song Since there were circles.
