HA! this is great Jan & Dean. Pre Beach Boys. When I was a kid in the 70s some other "new kid" to the school had a copy of that Jan & Dean LP that he got from his mom. He brought it in for indoor recess (rainy weather). We listened to it over and over. Especially Dead Man's Curve. And I remember some silly novelty song about popsicles & maybe an ice cream truck. Good times.

The combination of silly novelty and violent death is funny and at times chilling

Love that Fairport Convention version where they build the instrumentation, volume, emotion and intensity as the song moves along. One of the best Percy versions out there
