Bryon these bands bowed down to the Sabbath sound. Took the low tuned guitar strings, fuzzy distortion that is just right not too distorted , filtered it through the desert sands of This area of California, sped it up a little, rolled it into a rice papyrus and ignited.... somewhat

Yes the stoner rock or stoner metal does not have the posturing, posing, glam of say 70 to 80s New Wave of British Heavy Metal and 80s hair metal. More focused on the groove, throw in some outer space themes at times, stoner humor & references at times.
