Philly always had the squarest radio market, the last to break anything. I'm surprised they ditched it so fast....

I was a big fan of LEe before on XPN, it was a shocking jump to primetime for me, but he was never as good as when he had thefreedom he had (then) on XPN, now home to another Beatles block....

I grew up with Phiilly radio on my transistor.now other than Phillies game their is nota single thing I listen to.

I have friends who work on that end, I don't wanna bash (might give you an earful if I bump into you) but any slide across the dial inevitably ends up on PRB, where rarely do I get the urge to scream angrily at the radio...

PRB restored my faith in radio but boy do I miss Will C and the Worried waltz,

(Had a couple of bad run-ins with Rob Schneider when I lived in S.F. Dated a woman who was a waitress at The Holy City Zoo who despised him...

The only thing of his I ever watched was the recent Jeweler Sports gambler movie .it was okay.

I liked that a lot actually, I like those Safdie Brothers in general. Sandler's an easy target, he's probably no worse than other dumb comics I enjoy. And I love a good Danny McBride vehicle....

Not too hard to turn "riders in the Storm" into a jazz vehicles, that's the reason a lot of rock guys don't like the Door record, "it sounds like lounge jazz"

I think I got it from the denizens of our states Western neighbor largest city.

One of my favorite wrestlers, Barrel-chested Putski would bellow "Polish Power" into the mic after defeating his opponent.

(Often drop in random personal favorites in this last set, like Yamamoto, who has never released a record not worth loving.

Oh okay I know his name but I'm not really up on wrestling.Went to Spectrum once .it was fun.somebody named Sergeant Slaughter and Ayatollah was the bad guy.iron sheik.Junkyard dog.

One of my first obsessions, wrestling, like theater at its most primitive in the 70s, with most the action taking place in the ring. I'm sure a lot of the big gallumps of the 70s would be lost in modern wrestling, the amount of dialogue being much more demanding...

That said, I haven't followed wrestling since the early 80s.

Here's a Worried Waltz classic, White Noise from 1969, with Derby Derbyshire of "Dr Who Theme " fame....

I met Thomas at a Van Dyke Parks concert.He looked exactly like a proprietor of the Worried Waltz.

In the obit they said Don didn't follow Rose to Nashville because they didn't think his playing was up to snuff, but Don invested his money on local land and supplied lots for all the Maddox's to live later in life.

I rushed out to buy the vinyl for Amyl and the Sniffers this weekend...
