6164d34c5e524.jpg World premiere recording of the opera by Arnold Rosner - The Chronicle of Nine: The Tragedy of Queen Jane.

Arnold Rosner’s music has been aired many times since Classical Discoveries began back in May, 1997.

Classical Discoveries rarely broadcasts complete operas but this is an exception so that you can hear this wonderful, little known work. This is not a traditional opera show and will not include a detailed synopsis by act of the opera due to time restrictions. For synopsis of the opera go to: http://www.arnoldrosnermusic.com/music/the-chronic...

Teresa Peacock 9:41:24 AM
Good morning Marvin & Chef Emeril! I love this opera! I am not usually a fan of contemporary opera -- something about the vocal performance, how singers use their voices, in contemporary music that I sometimes find unpleasant. Not so in this case! I hear affinities with Hovaness in his choice of tonal pallet but the music definitely has its own personality; both intimate and magisterial at the same time! Gorgeous!
Teresa Peacock 9:43:06 AM
And yes, I agree -- his name should be a household word! I'll do my small part to get the word out. :-)
Marvin Rosen (host) 9:46:14 AM
