hi KPC, glad you had a good time in DC - I grew up there amongst the monuments and museums! the records/food/hotel sounds perfect.

It's much smaller than Record Exchange but I found some great stuff there.

And not super overpriced which was nice.

no, i haven't been back to DC much in the past few years, and then have spent time with my family/dad in Rockville with no time for record shopping! next trip though!

Also ate at Founding Farmers which I've been to a bunch of times.

There's one around here too -- in King of Prussia I think.

Have you heard PG Six's solo records? They're a little uneven, but there's some excellent psych-folk on them.

How about "The Red Headed Stranger" by Willie Nelson?

Tremendous song, especially in how the story line unwinds -- and uses the "bridge" passage (with a different melody line) with its revelation about the "cottage on a lonely old street, weeds growing 'round the gate" that explains the singer's real motivation for returning after many years to his old home town. Wow! Ray Charles did a killer version of this back in the late 1960s.
