The versions have a slightly different running order as well. "The First Day" in honor of the first day of WPRB's fall quiet drive.

Members initially coming together in 1974 as communal living, Here & Now developed growing out of the UK Free Festivals movement through the 1970s, freely giving their services to associated groups, e.g. Legalise Cannabis Campaign, Stonehenge Festival, etc. In 1977 they joined Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth to become Planet Gong and released their first vinyl album. Just noticed this bus has "777" on it, which Hillage uses for the name of his techno releases.

9:50 AM		Jade Warrior Dance of the Sun Way of the Sun Universal-Island Records Ltd. 1978 Unique British progressive rock band formed in 1970. Core members were Tony Duhig on guitars and percussion with Jon Field on percussion and flutes, and many guests. Among the influences in various aspects of their music are rock, jazz, Latin, Japanese, African, and ambient. "Way of the Sun" was the last of a 4-album series on Island Records, which are probably the pinnacle of their creative career. (All 4 LPs were reissued together on a double CD: "Elements: the Island Anthology", without the original expository liner notes, though.)

This is apropos for quiet drive. First Day

On several levels i see!

That was the plan.

Saw some great Nepali musicians play with Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck at Grey Fox Bluegrass Fest about 5 yrs ago. Wonderful. Little workshop stage for some of their collabs. Right up close.

Sounds wonderful. A great opportunity to see musicians that hardly get the opportunity to tour here.

Abigail has found more than one instance where a trad folk tune/ fiddle tune/ banjo tune from Scots Irish UK USA origin has an audio doppelganger with an Asian tune. She played examples of this with musicians from China and I believe also with the Nepalis. Music is everywhere!

That sounds like an awesome idea for a radio show. If I only had access to the appropriate recordings.

I JUST caught the melody of the "while stars sit in bars and decide what they're drinking.." line and thought hey that sounds like Neil Young/ CSNY "Country Girl ".... what do ya know...

I didn't expect that melody would slip by your finely tuned ears, Brian.

Those Bulgarian harmonies always remind me of the similar Finnish harmonies.

Now that you mention it, dude, next week I'm planning the darkest show ever, featuring gloomy ambient, post-rock, RIO, and metal.

The first 2 parts are not as intense as this. I think the titles are random. They do not remind me of turtles at all.
