Unique British progressive rock band formed in 1970. Core members were Tony Duhig on guitars and percussion with Jon Field on percussion and flutes, and many guests. Among the influences in various aspects of their music are rock, jazz, Latin, Japanese, African, and ambient. "Way of the Sun" was the last of a 4-album series on Island Records, which are probably the pinnacle of their creative career. Saw some great Nepali musicians play with Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck at Grey Fox Bluegrass Fest about 5 yrs ago. Wonderful. Little workshop stage for some of their collabs. Right up close.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:21:23 AM
Sounds wonderful. A great opportunity to see musicians that hardly get the opportunity to tour here.
Brian D 7:24:42 AM
Abigail has found more than one instance where a trad folk tune/ fiddle tune/ banjo tune from Scots Irish UK USA origin has an audio doppelganger with an Asian tune. She played examples of this with musicians from China and I believe also with the Nepalis. Music is everywhere!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 7:26:08 AM
That sounds like an awesome idea for a radio show. If I only had access to the appropriate recordings.
Brian D 7:32:59 AM

I didn't expect that melody would slip by your finely tuned ears, Brian.
