Been thinking of Joni lately - reading a biography called "Reckless Daughter". It's good!

I have about six of Joni's early vinyl records, and i remember when they were all new, but they are all in very good condition..

The working title of this was: "Letter for the Deaf Master", for Ludwig von Beethoven

Yes, vinyl is the only way to listen to Joni! warm, intimate vinyl

Pan-Galactic Gargleblasters are named in the Hitchhiker's Guide as "Best Drink in Existence.

Readie, Biographies are among my favorites because you can always learn something about life. No cavalry shows up at the last minute like in films...

Their effect is described as "having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick."

Yeah I usually alternate each book I read with a music bio and then maybe fiction or something else pop culture, topical etc

OK, so I used to work as an electrician in the badlands of North Philly. We were working in a clothing store being converted. There was this dumpster full of used naked mannequins and junk. And among all that stuff I saw a gold leaf leather bound copy of guess what? The More than Complete Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy !!!!!!!!

@Readie, seeing Laurie Anderson at close range must have been amazing. I saw her decades ago in Philly at the Tower Theater.

Laurie Anderson's new exhibit/installation is currently happening at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C. It runs until July 31, 2022.

Douglas Adams used to hitchhike through Europe. One evening, after a particularly lousy day, he lay on his back in a meadow, and wished he could hitchhike to another planet. And so he first had the idea. His book was going to be about the Earth getting destroyed by aliens while he escaped. He was going to call his book: "The Ends of the Earth".
