Totally by coincidence my wife and i dressed up as nazars ("evil eye" amulet) for a Halloween party. Posterboard hanging on neck over chest painted dark blue, turquoise, black, white. Easy!

LOL I've not heard of nazars as a costume before!

The younger crowd there actually knew what it was. And the mid to older crowd only knew what it was if their relatives came from the Mediterranean (1 of host 's family is Italian American)

Check out the band from Minnesota - Boiled in Lead. They have been known to do Turkish music... and music from just about every country in Europe.

I love our regularly scheduled DC programming but I'm learning so much these past two weeks I wonder if you should do one of these quarterly? Or perhaps record one-offs here and there to be broadcast on [redacted]?

I'm also realizing how much I enjoy sharing this music and will definitely continue it in some form (I'm hoping to get one of the 3 hour slots in the spring if we are still LRBing and maybe do a one hour bit within that)
