Is there any particular reason why Raga Madhyamavati is chosen as a concluding raga in Carnatic concerts?

Hi D the Obscure, good morning. There are a few ragas that are considered auspicious or mangala ragas (tradition). Some of them are: Madhyamavati, Suruti, Manirang, Sowrashtram. After a concert is done, it is customary to thank the powers that be for having made the concert possible. An auspicious raga is chosen for this. Don't know who started this

Nothing like music

Some of your selections sound like they were taken from vintage 78 rpm discs.

No CDs available, where sound has been digitally improved

Why don't they re-release the music of the past generations in digital format? They are a treasure

SaReGaMa has made an effort, but only a small portion of artists have had some of their old recordings digitized. Mostly those artists that might reliably sell, like Abdul Karim Khan.

Somehow the process of obtaining, physically and digitally cleaning needs to be funded.

This singer died when she was only 31. What a loss to music! An accident in the kitchen. In the past, before natural gas became available, a kerosene stove was a common source of heat for cooking in the kitchen. This was notorious for exploding, if not properly and carefully handled
