OKAY HOLY SHIT I just listened to the original and Phoebe's version back to back, what an incredible 13 minutes of music. Thank you for planting the seed for that experience

I still need to fall into the Tom Waits rabbit hole that I feel like I've been unintentionally avoiding for years

The original is so incredibly simply beautiful, and Phoebe's version and hallmark collage of sounds just expands upon it so brilliantly and evocatively, and I enjoyed the Silent Night teases as well

That sounds transcendental ToT I might do that after my show so thanks for the idea

I also feel like in the original there are melodic similarities to Phoebe's music, so I can totally see the influence on her and why she might've gravitated towards that specific song

Oh sweet! I actually didn't think she was coming to Philly, so my girlfriend and I saw her in Boston

Then bought a tour shirt and it had a Philly date on it for earlier in the week and I was like oop

That's so funny

What's Boston like? I've never been

Ooo you've gotta go sometime! Wonderful wonderful wonderful place

So many neighborhoods and places to explore, and they present their history better than Philly imo (specifically revolutionary war era, which both try to claim, but lots of other history beyond that too)

And not far from Boston, there is such a wide range of places to go to from the mountains to the beaches. My mind was blown when I visited the cape cod national park sand dunes!
