| Wu Man Rainbow Raiment Song (Pipa, Erhu & Xiao) Elegant Pipa Classics WIND MUSIC 2013 Wu Man was born in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, on 2 January 1963. Trained in Pudong-style pipa performance at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. At 13, she became the youngest student at the school, and her final audition was covered in national newspapers. She moved to the U.S. in 1990 to pursue a career in pipa performance that would allow her repertoire to extend beyond traditional Chinese music. She is known for playing in a broad range of musical styles and introducing the pipa and its Chinese heritage into Western genres. |

The old 45 with the TV theme song credits Lee Adams & Charles Strouse. Other sources credit Russian composer Борис Фомин (Boris Fomin), with English lyrics by Gene Raskin. But I don't hear the similarity. |
