@Mary, I do enjoy a good mincemeat pie. I always assumed there was meat in it until I had it.

One advantage (?) of Passover looming is we decided to finally finish off all the donuts I brought back from Rhode Island that were in our freezer.

What kind of donuts were they? And how do you revive a frozen donut?

@DSM depends on how it’s made, you can do it without suet. In the 14th C though they definitely had meat in them.

I've never had a donut survive long enough to make it into the freezer.

My dad and I go to Rhode Island every winter and we try to bring back enough donuts for each of us to last the winter.

That's really cool, Mary. Reading that brings back a lot of memories. Especially one of trying to tune in a NFL playoff game via Armed Forces Radio when out of the states....

A friend of mine and I once recorded a short wave radio through a delay pedal and came across an Israeli radio station. Neither of us understood Hebrew and it was a pleasant babble of words until the words “David Koresh” and “Branch Dravidian” repeated themselves through the delay pedal.
