Poor Jim Page must be fighting off requests for Immigrant Song every other weekend.

Oh my, The Band's "Amazon (River of Dreams)" ... I'd never heard it. And that it was composed by Artie Traum ... extra wonderful, thank you, John!

Geoff Muldaur -- live in the studio! An unexpected extra treat, most excellent. .

Geoff Muldaur great artist true gentleman.Met him in person at Saint Marys on UOP campus and at Prallsville Mills.

Never met a performer who was a better story teller than Geoff.

What's extra delightful about the track with the Amsterdam classical musicians (in addition to Geoff's yearning vocals is, the orchestral players really have the true groove for blues and early ragtime. I'm sure Geoff's tutelage had a lot to do with that.

Geoff's story about Jac Holzman asking the Beatles about song use permissions -- and because he'd released Koerner, Ray & Glover on Elektra Records they were totally impressed to meet HIM -- is genuinely priceless! Thank you, Geoff.

Geoff has wonderful story discovering Bluesman Lonnie Johnson washing dishes in a Center City Philadelphia Hotel.

@ Patrick Blanco Yes, indeed! As I recall, Geoff and his buddies got a line on Lonnie Johnson living in Philly -- and there were three Lonnie Johnsons in the Philly phone book. And he had to call all three of them before he found THE Lonnie Johnson, blues great of the 78 rpm records era. To get a call like that totally out of nowhere from a young white blues enthusiast -- and the offer of a paying folk music show gig -- was a surprise for Mr. Johnson, to say the least.

Duke Ellington should have released a jug band album.
