I have barely begun to explore Polish prog. Although Poland did not have a "scene" like RPI in Italy. Still, plenty of creative groups that haven't gotten much attention, probably because of the language.

Brian D 9:49:44 AM
Punch Brothers did some cool stuff (Chris Thiele virtuouso mandolinist project) . Back in the 1970s a very long named one off lp using all the names of the players Norman Blake / Tut Taylor / Sam Bush / Butch Robins / Vassar Clements / David Holland / Jethro Burns whew... a great bluegrass meets jazz etc . Anyone w long hair playing bluegrass in the 70s was thought to be progressive i guess... loaded word. John Harford and his famous Aereo-Plain lp and band (some of the above feat) ....
Brian D 9:50:21 AM
may not sound progressive now but it was then. Feet in both waters... many waters etc
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 9:50:23 AM
Thanks, Brian D. I knew you'd have some insight
Brian D 9:52:24 AM
And another fave Dave has played here is Skip Hop and Wobble lp by Jerry Douglas, Russ Barenberg and Edgar Meyer ( Sam Bush guests too)
Brian D 9:53:39 AM
That one is so much fun. Darol Anger, Mike Marshall and others band called Psychograss is fun too
Brian D 9:55:41 AM
But maybe one of the most progressive players to form bands and really push it beyond 'grass is David Grisman. He just has so many great albums, bands, projects, etc. Great approach to improv
