Possession of a half-decent am/fm portable and then the gift of a Zenith Model 3000-1(still have it!!) were my downfall, as well as radio club and a daily bit of music and announcements before start of classes at my high school... Yes, I was a nerd, and still am. ..

I discovered WQFS in the early 1980’s after moving to North Carolina, got motivated one spring day in 1989 to sign up as a summer volunteer and have been a part of the fun both on or off the air ever since.

My main focus on air, for the most part, is to show that my generation was not the 100% Woodstock themed commercially “viable” fare of the top 10 charts candy bar it has been made out to be. I try to share that opposite, more experimental, underground and overseas aspect that was my listening fare back then in many genres that evolved out of the crazy rebellion and roller coaster that was the 60’s and 70's.

My secondary focus is what is going on *now* aka "in recent years", the historically same and similar genres, especially new psychedelia and space "rock", the latter being a bit too long and often laid back in composition to be fitted well to a mid-day show. That said, that sort of music is given air play mostly over the winter holidays, a sound track to the void that is Southern Winter Nighttime.

Peace.
