I discovered WQFS in the early 1980’s after moving to North Carolina, got motivated one spring day in 1989 to sign up as a summer volunteer and have been a part of the fun both on or off the air ever since.

My focus on air is to show that my generation was not the 100% Woodstock themed commercially “viable” fare of the top 10 charts candy bar it has been made out to be. I try to share that opposite and often more experimental underground and overseas aspect that was my listening fare “back when” in many genres that evolved out of the crazy rebellion and roller coaster that was the 60’s and 70's. Growing out of that is what is going on *now* aka "in recent years", the historically same and similar genres of new psychedelia and space "rock", the latter being a bit too long and often laid back in composition to be fitted well to a mid-day show but it gets played anyways…

psychedelia is a very large umbrella covering many genres from chill out electric club to wonderfully mystic acoustic folk, and the evolution continues.

Peace.
