A few months ago I met Ducttape Jesus and have been enamored with him since. We talked about the local music scene regarding hip-hop in particular. Discussed his film production company "No Fun" in-depth. We discovered that we're both big fans of movies and broke down some of our favorites. Spoiler Alert!!! Muppet Treasure Island made the cut. This week I spoke to Luther & Yajirobe, of Tribe 95, to talk about their new single "Rock With" among other things! Trying to embrace the positive a bit more and what better way is there to do that than through music? The sun has been radiating love and light and the frequencies are just right to create some head-bobs and sweet, sweet smiles. I hope you enjoy this mix that I have prepared. The artist interviews will continue next week. I wanted to use this episode as a canvas to paint the image that should hopefully speak to what I am listening to currently/listen to on the regular-degular. Some friends and favorites will be featured in the mix as always as well as some new discoveries! Things don't always go as planned, so thank you also to the program organizers at the station as well for their patience and understanding. With this return-to-air episode I enlisted the musings of Aia. We talked a lot about her recent drops with her "
Scat Packs", the current state of R&B and Soul, as well as her up bringing musically and her education as a Jazz musician at Howard University. Along with a few choice drops from her, I decided to make this episode purely about dance and electronic music. Something about the current state of the world made me want to do an episode of nothing but dance music to try and pump some carefreeness into your Monday afternoon. Peace & Love always!
