Chuk Amøk 8:08:54 PM
Hi Jess!
Chuk Amøk 8:09:45 PM
Having a flashback to Paris, summer of '97 here.
Jess Speer (host) 8:10:44 PM
I need to hear more about that please
Chuk Amøk 8:14:29 PM
Well, for starters I didn't have nearly enough soup back then.
Jess Speer (host) 8:15:28 PM
*gasp!*
Chuk Amøk 8:24:50 PM
Soup, and Deep House.
Jess Speer (host) 8:26:16 PM
new genre: soup house
Jess Speer (host) 8:26:26 PM
not to be confused with deep soup
Chuk Amøk 8:33:44 PM
Haha the only answers we have to the genres we know are new genres.
Chuk Amøk 8:33:48 PM
Loving this.
Chuk Amøk 8:34:19 PM
The McCowen, specifically.
Jess Speer (host) 8:35:06 PM
ALL ACOUSTIC
Jess Speer (host) 8:35:19 PM

Jonathan Price 8:39:32 PM
hello radio friends
Chuk Amøk 8:39:37 PM
That is incredible, Jess! I really hope this is at the station, but I'll probably have to get it anyway.
Chuk Amøk 8:39:48 PM
Hi Andrew and Jonathan!
Chuk Amøk 8:40:59 PM
A contrabass is a kind of Nicaraguan fish invented by the reagan administration.
Jess Speer (host) 8:43:21 PM
It is not at the station, lo siento.
Jess Speer (host) 8:43:31 PM
hi jonathan!
Jess Speer (host) 8:43:50 PM
lol, chuk. 80s kid jokes.
Chuk Amøk 8:44:04 PM
It's fine. Just found it on Bandcamp.
Jess Speer (host) 8:55:34 PM
we should probably get on the good side with those labels. i have a dinzu artefacts heavy show tonight.
Jonathan Price 8:56:00 PM
Dope selections tonight, Jess.
Chuk Amøk 8:59:55 PM
Agree with Jonathan.
Chuk Amøk 9:00:01 PM
*I
Jess Speer (host) 9:00:12 PM
i liked that as a command, tho.
Jess Speer (host) 9:00:23 PM
everyone should agree with jonathan that i am making dope selections tonight.
Jess Speer (host) 9:01:01 PM
but seriously, thank you. one gift of the chat is knowing that this show that's blowing my own mind is being witnessed by others too.
Chuk Amøk 9:01:32 PM
Heard and greatly enjoyed.
Chuk Amøk 9:05:41 PM
Yes!
Jonathan Price 9:06:41 PM
Really dug that last piece. I'm all about contemporary sort of compositions on ancient Japanese instruments. Kinda reminded of one of my fave records from one of my fave Japanese labels: https://www.discogs.com/release/9972890-%E4%B8%89%E6%A9%8B%E8%B2%B4%E9%A2%A8-%E5%A4%A7%E5%B6%BD%E5%92%8C%E4%B9%85-%E5%90%89%E6%9D%91%E4%B8%83%E9%87%8D-%E7%A6%8F%E6%B0%B8%E5%8D%83%E6%81%B5%E5%AD%90-Gaku-Individuality-Of-Four-Musicians
Chuk Amøk 9:07:08 PM
Tonight's soup was a lentil veg from Well, Yes! Pretty good. Enjoying some watermelon from the fridge as a dessert 'cause I gotta clear things out that might go bad while I'm away this week.
Chuk Amøk 9:07:36 PM
Ooh, thanks for the link Jonathan!
Jonathan Price 9:07:58 PM
So many things on ALM records are amazing.
Jess Speer (host) 9:09:25 PM
ah cool, another label rabbit hole to explore!
Jess Speer (host) 9:10:43 PM
i'm thinking of making a roasted squash soup on weds to celebrate the equinox! tomorrow is stock-making day though
Jonathan Price 9:11:16 PM
If I ever become not shy enough to invite people over to my house, y'all will be the first to know - because I have a ton of ALM titles over here.
Jess Speer (host) 9:19:39 PM
if i ever have a space big enough for more than 3 people to visit, i would love to host a relaxing lady's night for y'all, which mostly involves cozy food potluck and listening to records, sometimes also puzzles.
Chuk Amøk 9:21:25 PM
Shout out to the equinox. Bring on the autumn!
Chuk Amøk 9:22:30 PM
If y'all ever want to visit Spartanburg, then come on down!
Jess Speer (host) 9:34:03 PM
record-listening party circuit!
Jess Speer (host) 9:49:45 PM
