On “ISSA VIBE” we play a variety of genres and songs including R&B, hip hop, rap, and jazz featuring both new and established artists locally, nationally, and internationally. Every episode has predetermined themes, or “vibes” like: MISTY, SMOOTH, MELLOW, BEACHY, TURN UP, and LOWKEY HIGHKEY which characterize that week’s song selection and topic of conversation.
With these vibes, we discuss new music releases, news from the industry within the genres, diversity in American music and its influence internationally or vice versa, and concerts (focusing on those in Boston and the surrounding areas so our listeners are aware of up and coming/indie or other artists they are fans of). We bring guests on to showcase their perspective of the vibes and discuss that week’s topics as well as connect the vibes to their personal lives, play fun improv games, or ask questions that we come up with ourselves.
