Welcome back to WWPV 92.5 FM "The Mike".
This afternoon-evening in our radio show THE CUBAN BRIDGE we are glad to host the Second Part of our Music Selection with the bands that played during THE ARLINGTON JAZZ FESTIVAL in ARLINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS, from April 7 - 10.
Today, we will render Tribute to Peruvian-America bass player OSCAR STAGNARO, who was in the Final Night in the band led by Drummer Mark Walker.
Mark Walker's World Jazz Ensemble and Special Guest Randy Brecker (tp)*.
Mr. Stagnaro is a Professor at the acclaimed BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC in Boston, MA, and has been playing with Paquito D'Rivera Quintet and other Ensembles led by the NJ Paqman since 1992. His album MARIELLA'S DREAM recorded in 2003 in Florida is engineered by pianist ALAIN MALLET another of the Masters of Walker's Band and an Academician at Berklee aussi !
We will have some STAGNAROS and ACUNAS and some Afro-Peruvian classic folklore rhythms like lando, festejo and zamacueca in our playlist today.
Enjoy,
