Hi everyone,

1997 marks the foundation of EL JOVEN JAZZ a contest in HAVANA, CUBA, that brought-in several power-house bands and soloists, who were still in SCHOOL.

IT was an unequal opportunity to all the NEW KIDS IN TOWN who could not take part at THE JAZZ PLAZA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL founded in 1980.

.And now, happily 22 years after, EL JOVEN JAZZ is touring the Globe. names like David Virelles, Norberto Rodriguez, Tony Rodriguez, Yasek Manzano, Rafael Zaldivar, Emir Santa Cruz, Mayquel Gonzalez, Carlos Sarduy, Regis Molina, Sexto Sentido Vocal Quartet, Alejandro Falcon, and countless others are touring the 7 continents.

For instance, pianist David Virelles is now playing with saxophonist RAVI COLTRANE, after a few years living and studying in TORONTO, CANADA, touring and recording with saxophonist Jane Bunnett with all her different Music Projects. Examples, I could mention hundreds. But it will be better to listen to them.

This CUBAN BRIDGE will not be a Cuban bands and soloists exposure, we will highlight others like Israel born and NYC based drummer DAN PUGACH with his Nonet in the album PLUS ONE, and Japanese American pianist Takaaki Otomo, whose PIANISM gave us the idea to host this New BRIDGE ! .

There will a a lot to chew this afternoon. Albums released between 1997 and 2019. Believe me, support the New Kids in Town, and have mercy.
