Global peace of any meaningful duration has thus far eluded our species, and the current war in Ukraine, along with other hot conflicts gives us little reason to hope we'll overcome our tendency to attack any time soon. Though I abhor all war and violent aggression, I stand proudly with the defenders of freedom and democracy--in Ukraine and other war-ravaged parts of our world. Like most of us, the everyday people caught in crossfire have no use for war. They resist because their lives are under attack, and their cause is just. We would do the same, and on local fronts, many of us are--fighting for civil rights, voting rights, economic justice, environmental justice...these are the underpinnings of our society that are worth protecting, worth fighting for, worth the resistance and its costs, and which we hope will lead, someday, to peace. Today, honoring the resistance, we've begun with Peace for Kabul, from Blue Planet.
