Speaking of Spinitron, is there any reason why some songs get skipped? I don’t know tha API mechanism, but some ideas: a) maybe the dj missed it? b) the Z doesn’t have it entered yet? c) maybe too obscure? - a lot of times Shazam doesn’t get it either

@Bob from my experience it's when songs are too new or obscure to be picked up by the auto-detection software. (Not sure what's used for our robots, but I've seen that a lot of stuff that isn't on digital music services, or is just-released new, doesn't get picked up.)

Cool, thanks. That’s what I figured. While I’m at it, Jon’s “mic break” option would be useful - I’ll sometimes think “I like that song, two before the dj started talking” but if I look sometime later I have no idea when that was. I wonder if there’s any way to add a “Note” entry for you, so you could type some info on a song (especially for someone like Carl, who has so much great info on songs and bands), and maybe some routine could also kick in and mention a Mic Break.

Plus it’d give the programmers something to do!

Would it be useful for that type of situation? So you played, say, Coricky, but you could mention it’s Ian MacKaye’s band, or something. “Oh, they’re playing Friday at Great Scott” (I know that’s now impossible :( )

I think it would be useful for that situation for sure; I definitely would use the "note" function to alert people to upcoming shows by bands I played

I watched the video for "The Ghost at Number One" for the first time in forever over the weekend and boy, is it dark.

Yeah, shazam didn’t get it either. And often those are the ones that catch your attention, cuz they’re unfamiliar

The bot is also maddening with the year/label metadata it auto-enters
