Historians are shaking their heads as media talk about January 6 as “unprecedented”; while shocking and dispiriting, it has layers and layers of precedent that need to be learned and engaged, if we are ever to actually have the racial reckoning that corporate media are forever insisting we’ve already had. Also on the show: We talk about the troubled vaccine rollout with Elisabeth Rosenthal, longtime journalist, now editor in chief of Kaiser Health News.

Part 3 further explores the ecological devastation wrought by the trio of neoliberal capitalism, rampant consumerism, and product advertising. It also explores the breakdown of social ties--and the celebration of rampant and live-for-today individualism--that this trio promotes. But the film's conclusion is optimistic: many people are seeing through the trio's false promises and are rebelling. Christopher Sewall was Environmental Program Director of the Western Shoshone Defense Project from 1992-2005. He spoke at the entrance to the Nevada Test site at the Shoshone peace and anti nuclear gathering in May 2003 – unraveling the broken Treaty of Ruby Valley of 1863. We were broadcasting him on a micro power radio station LIVE into the high security area of the test site that was then administered by the Bechtel corporation and guarded by the Wackenhuts. The Western Shoshone had issued us a license to broadcast – bypassing the FCC.

The Trump administration and the government of Israel, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have devised a Middle East peace plan without the involvement of Palestinian leaders, and have concluded agreements to normalize relations between Israel and a widening circle of Arab regimes -- the so-called "Abraham Accords." What are the prospects for this strategy? Can it succeed in breaking the deadlock in Middle East peacemaking? Or is it likely to exacerbate existing tensions between Israel and Palestine and throughout the region? Is lasting peace without Palestinian involvement possible? And what alternatives might he explore? The far-right siege on the U.S. Capitol has been called unbelievable, shocking, and beyond imagination, but, lets not forget the attacks on statehouses around the nation and all the symbols hate deployed (guillotine, hangmans noose, confederate and Nazi iconography), though they received far less coverage. The playbook for the Maga invasion of the nations Capitol building has been developing for years in plain sight, at far-right rallies in cities like Charlottesville, Berkeley and Portland, and then, in the past year, at state capitols across the country, where heavily armed white protesters have forced their way into legislative chambers to accuse politicians of tyranny and treason. While what happened was outrageous and wrong, was it really unbelievable?
