I've said it a million times before...but...it was my dad that turned me on to college radio. "You should be listening to the music on the left side of the dial." And so it began.

My Dad and I got into huge fights because he didn't consider the Doors, the Rolling Stones, and the Beatles to be "music".. in 1967..

HAH. My Dad had albums by all them. He liked classical as young person, jazz as a young man and then by time he passed...MDC, GBH and much hardcore.

One day, coming home from collecting from my paper route customers, heard my Nugent record playing from down the street. Ran home pissed at my brother for stealing my records again. Nope. Dad fast asleep. When turned it down, said, "Why you turn it down. It was calming me."

I got into a fight with a RollingStones-loving hippie on a college radio station in 1978. He insisted that punk rock was not music.

I looked up the word Spankathon and found it was part of a Alan Milman Sect record called stitches which also includes the songs Happy world & love with machinery so perhaps he was a member of Man-Ka-Zam?
