Host Bruce Gagnon, interviewing Scott Ritter on US "withdrawal" from disarmament treaties with Russia
The Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space Available at TGN's website space4peace.org/videos/ 2022
Scott Ritter answers questions on why the US is moving away from ‘Arms control’ – particularly with Russia and China; why the US pulled out of the ABM Treaty; the INF Treaty; whether the ‘Aegis Ashore’ missile defense systems in Romania and Poland like a Cuban missile crisis in reverse for Russia? Ritter is a former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer. He also served with the United Nations implementing arms control treaties. By definition, treaties are legally binding and become international law. The US cannot legally "withdraw" from any treaty it has signed without all other parties' consent. Yet it has done so and continues to do so, with little if any discussion of the implications. Essentially, this means that no US commitment can ever be trusted.

The economy as we know it is populated by gigantic corporations, behemoths that have bought up not only their competition but also the businesses supplying or otherwise supporting them. Such monopolies act as a “rival form of government,” explains Zephyr Teachout, the author of Break ’Em Up: Recovering Our Freedom From Big Ag, Big Tech, and Big Money. On Episode 12 of The Politics of Everything, our hosts talk with Teachout about the dangers of allowing these outsize companies to grow unchecked, and what should be done about them. This episode originally aired July 29, 2020, after which corporate consolidation and monopolization have grown even worse.
