Editing Artist, Disk and Label fields
Take care when editing a playlist entry. Changing the value of Artist/Disk/Label means correcting the spelling of the name string in the DB's record for that Artist/Disk/Label.
So if there's a typo in Artist or Disk then edit it in situ. For example, if your playlist says:
Dusty Springfeild - Little by Little from 'You Dont Have to Say You Love Me'
with the edit feature, go ahead and change it to:
Dusty Springfield - Little by Little from 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me'
But if you need to change it to:
Dusty Springfield - Little by Little from 'Dusty in Memphis''
then delete the song and re-enter it.
'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me' and 'Dusty in Memphis' are both disks from Dusty Springfield, so it's not a spelling error. If you overwrite one with the other, all songs in any of your station's playlists that reference the disk 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me' will be corrected to 'Dusty in Memphis'.
Hence it's not encouraged to make wholesale changes to the value in the Disk field while doing an edit. For the fields Artist, Disk and Label, consider editing to mean correcting, all other fields are safe to make big changes.
